SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Ten people have been arrested in connection with a marijuana distribution ring that moved up to 75 pounds of pot a week in the Saratoga Springs area, police said.

The investigation began last November, when Christopher Redding, 28, of Massena was arrested after several pounds of marijuana were found in a vehicle he was driving after it was pulled over in Saratoga Springs, police said.
A Lincoln Avenue, Saratoga Springs home was searched and found to be used for marijuana distribution, police said.

Saratoga Springs Police contacted the Capital District Drug Task Force, which backtracked the organization and learned that hundreds of pounds of marijuana were being brought to the region from Canada and distributed throughout the Capital District, police said.
Aaron Vice, 32 of Massena, and Matthew Dillon, 29, of Fort Covington, were identified as leaders of the organization and were charged with federal counts of conspiracy to distribute more than 50 kilograms of marijuana, police said.
According to police, charged with felony state charges of first-degree criminal possession of marijuana and conspiracy were;
* Kyle MacDuff, 22, of Cohoes.
* Charles Bushey, 29, of Troy.
* John Snow, 27, of Hogansburg.

Charged with felony counts of first-degree criminal sale of marijuana and conspiracy were Danielle Bevins, 32, of Plattsburgh and Danny Kelley, 57, of Massena, police said.

Charged with felony conspiracy were Margaret Jacobs, 34, of Fort Covington and Austin Thompson, 18, of Akwesasne, Canada.
Bevins and Kelley were arraigned Thursday and sent to Saratoga County Jail for lack of bail. Arraignment status for the other defendants was not available.
