Hey, hey! It's been a while since I've been around the Farm; life calls, y'know? ;)

Some of you might have read the convoluted adventure that was the original Monolith thread, and it seems this second run was not to be outdone - it put up a hell of a fight. Some of the most egregious issues: running three strains on one DWC system(my choice, just to experiment)! Going through 5 weeks of flower without EC *or* pH meters! Being too busy to tend the tent, resulting in a solid cube of largely unproductive greenery! And finally, moldy buds, partly due to the intense constriction within the tent! Sweet! :party

A huge mess, in other words. :D Anyway, UCMENOW dared me to post some pics, and even though the harvest is done, I didn't want to disappoint. Let the shit show begin!

I swear, they grew *sailing knots* around each others branches...

Catchin' some hang time! :itwasntme

Some nice, fat tops, filled with *mold*. :doh

And what's awesome is that even with all these conditions being so far from optimal, I actually beat my per-plant yield from the first run! :icon_spin:

Time for round three... I decided to give name-brand jeans(ha-ha!) a try, and some Critical Mass seeds are on their way. Perhaps the Monolith has one more grow log left in it? ;)

My thanks, as always, to the generous community here at the Farm!

Cheers,
BL

It is good you have high standards.

Honestly, those pics look better than some of the shots of rooms and plants I have seen on here when people ranting on how well they look.

I understand FULLY when it comes to family fucking woman that mess up your grow or take the time away needed. My wife loves to piss me off and fight when I need to go to work in the room. Just to prove her a point I let 2 plants die that her lazy ass was supposed to be growing and taking care of. Fukin lazy bitch she is.

Anyway, I really hope it works out best for you next time. If family is taking time away and you need something that you can check on and deal with in a short amount of time a week. You should try out Coco feed to waste, I changed to it and I can let it go for a week if needed.

Smokey: Yikes! No problems quite of that sort for me, Jah be praised. ;) Most of my inattentiveness was due to sports, believe it or not, and a hectic summer schedule. Funny you should mention, I used to do coir, and now the only thing that has allowed me to be so lax is the Under Current I'm rockin' now!

strictly, thanks! Haha, afro doesn't even *begin* to describe the snarling, knotted mess that was in that tent. :itwasntme The rot was a bummer, especially because, of course, it went after the densest, fattest, most beautiful colas first. Fortunately, I think I only ended up losing about 2oz, but it was such a shame to snip apart those handsome donkey knobs. :D

Trichrome, whatup!!! :hi I think I may actually do another real grow log once those Critical Mass beans come in; that's going to be interesting. I trust you'll be in attendance? ;)

Lookin forward to when you start the new log. I'll definitely be in there.
What did you choose for strain on the new seeds?

Critical Mass! Have you heard of it? Supposedly it's a cross between Big Bud and Skunk #1... whatever; I've read good things. I was looking for something that says "yield" with a capital Y.

Sometimes the ad copy for strains really cracks me up. Seems it's almost impossible to find a plant that *isn't* dripping with resin, loaded with an unbelievable THC content, and one of the highest yielding strains ever grown! :dull

Critical Mass IS a yielder.

Looking forward to another entertaining grow log BL.

Sounds excellent! My last run was skunk#1, and it was some awesome stuff! Go big BL!

RMCG, always nice to have some direct verification. Have you grown it? Seen it grown? Got any salient advice? I've been working with the same three local mystery strains for... a few years, and this going to be like my first time back out in the dating scene. :D It could be really awkward, or it could be really awesome.

Trichrome, did you make a thread for that skunk run? I'd love to see it!

Cheers,
BL

Seen it and smoked it. If you had mold issues with your unknown strain, be careful with this one. Will turn to mush quickly.

If you have a penchant for beastiality, this will satisfy your need for donkey members.

Can't really add much more than it grows MONSTER colas.

Emphasis on the monster, huh? Perfect! :D I think mold can be controlled fairly easily. This last run, there were a couple of contributing factors... the tent was so completely overgrown (and I mean wall-to-wall, jammed solid) that active air flow was severely stifled. The *other* problem was that there was a small, slow leak in the system that I couldn't identify. I'd dry everything out, and then not notice the *standing water* that would seep back out into the tent for days at a time. Yeesh. :itwasntme Without those problems present, I think I'll be much less susceptible to mold.

Donkey club, hoooooo!

Hey, how was the smoke, btw? Obviously, I can't know what my phenos will be like, but was what you saw reasonably potent? Indica-dominant high?

In my neck of the woods, there's no such thing as a farming community, and identifiable, premium genetics or cuttings are completely unheard of. This will be my first experience with anything besides "found genes" (so to speak), so you can imagine my curiosity. :)

It's decent smoke. Typical indica/'skunk'. More of a 'weight' thing vs. a connoisseur thing, ya know?

Pick one: quality or yield, huh? :D That's alright, it's going to be interesting in any case. I'd really like to pick up some seeds via the THC Bay, but I'm a bit intimidated by the selection process. :( With so many breeders and strains seemingly changing all the time, it's difficult for me to suss out what would best for my purposes. And opening up a bunch of clueless threads with "So, uhhh, like... what's, like, the *awesomest* strain, for real?" isn't really my thing. :itwasntme

Can't really go wrong with most of the stuff here. In the end, its all personal preference.
