TheCoolestMan, I'd love to see some work done with that Mob Boss. I've only tried it once, and I'm still waiting to get some seeds from it. Thats been on my wish list for awhile now, but just haven't gotten around to throwing down the $ for the beans. You should take that and throw it at the White BX.

Refering to the fact that u can't patent a plant, everyone can use whatever strains he feels to work with. However, there people that have respect and always give credit to who is due and some that even change u work name with out letting u know.
personaly i think that homemade crosses should be used to give as freebies on ur fav boards, trade or shared with friends. They can also be sold to people who are in need at a resonable price, so as u can see there is no rules it depend more and spirit of the people.

In 1993, I took one of my mexican brick homegrown males and planted it near 3 Afghani females.This was bright green brickweed; not schwag. I think it may be Oaxacan by DJ Short's description, but there is no way to know for sure. The Afghani came to the US sometime in the 80's and we were lucky enough to get to know the farmer who grew it.
About 200 seeds from this cross were kept in a safe, dry place (an old Skoal can) for the last 16 yrs or so. I germinated a few of them last August, and they turned out so well that i decided to pop 30 of them and find a mother of both phenotypes. The plants are either totally sativa-dominant or indica-dominant. Both produce great medicine and are 8-9 weeks finishers. I could have pulled buds at 4 weeks and had some decent smoke, but they end up awesome if you're patient...
Sativa pheno- 3 weeks from harvest
Indica pheno, 2-3 weeks from chop
Not bad
The final product of the Indica is somewhat close to Island Sweet Skunk; skunky and citrus aroma and flavor. The Sativas smell like rotten cheese; earthy, spicy, skunky; almost like hot garbage...lol.

Thats actually a very real and horrific threat to the entire planet! Take a look at Monsanto and all the "great" things they have done with patenting plants and animals. It is completely legal to patent a plant or animal or any other living thing.... The scary part being could this, hypothetically, extend to humans as well? There haven't been cases about this, but I'm sure that if they could, they would. Companies will literally search for plants & food products (corn, beans, tomatoes, ect) which don't have patents on them and run to be the first to have it. There have been MANY MANY cases involving this all over america. Monsanto will, and have, even SUE you if you grow their patented products without their consent or a license to grow it. Most tomatoes and other veggies that you buy all have patents on them, and if you use a seed that they bear, you can literally be sued for it. Its very scary stuff.
The only reason cannabis isn't patented is because its illegal, and you can't patent an illegal substance. But you can bet your ass that if it ever does become legal (like rich lee's bill is propossing) you will really start to see the scum surface. Arjan from Greenhouse Seeds will probably be the first in line! haha. He already names strains after himself so no other breeder will use it.
how bout pollination methods. i was thinking of writing male name and numbers on plasitc baggies collecting the pollen into the bags and doing like a branch here and a branch there, this way you could kinda control the pollination and know what strain cross is coming from what. twist tie them around the base of the branch pollinated and leave it there for an hour or so. i figure multiple crosses on one plant and this way since both parents would be kept if anything stood out as a real nice cross maybe pollinate a whole plant....i think donations as freebies would be the best way if you were going to give them away, i could never sell a bean <at least not as a pollen chucker>.
which also brings me to this question, how do you go about making your own "true" authentic cross <or ibl> , would you get as technical as saying you have to travel to a far off land and collect the seeds from landrace? i tend to babble sometimes but anyways threads nice so far definetly one i check regular like.
