500 ppms of calcium is way to high for cannabis. I only use
from the web what I personally agree with, as it saves me a
shit ton of one handed typing. That being said, here it is:

500 ppm of calcium in a hydroponic system is way too high for cannabis and can cause serious problems, including:

Nutrient Lockout:

  • Excess calcium will block the uptake of other essential nutrients like magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus.
  • This can lead to deficiencies even if those nutrients are present in the solution.

pH Imbalance:

  • High calcium can raise the pH, making nutrients less available to the plant.

Symptoms of Too Much Calcium:

  • Stunted growth
  • Rust-colored spots on leaves (often confused with deficiency)
  • Leaf tip burn or curling
  • Salt buildup in the reservoir and around the root zone

Ideal Range:

100-200 ppm is ideal, and pushing above 250 ppm can start causing problems.
500 ppm is overkill and will almost definitely result in nutrient lockout or toxicity.

If someone’s running that high, they should dilute their nutrient solution immediately and aim for a more balanced feed. Let them know before their plants start screaming!

This site has a no politics rule. With that being said I guarantee all of your sources are propaganda. It doesn’t matter what country you’re in it is all state run propaganda if you are watching legacy media. Ever see the montage of multiple stations stating the exact same thing word for word?

Ok. I just replied to a post of tRump dancing so now I know not to.

Other than our local news mostly for the excellent weather report I don't watch much legacy news nor frequent conspiracy sites of any ilk. I do like the PBS Newshour and BBC News America for fairly balanced reporting of the day without a lot of talking heads.

I'll stick to relative topics for now on.

Another week or two and my first ever harvest will be completed can't wait to see what this monster produces
First grow? You've done good, you must have been paying attention to all the information that has been offered so freely in this era of cannabis freedom, most first grows are a wild learning experience with average results at best if not complete trainwrecks (pun intended) looking great keep up the good work !

I love my satellite TV and watch a lot more shows for entertainment than I do for news. Really into a lot of British cop/detective type shows, (just watched Hope Street).

Most of the political stuff I see online. I'm not interested in conspiracy theories so subscribe to sites and newsletters that have won awards for truth in journalism etc. PBS on TV has won many of those.

I don't go for that divide and conquer crap. I love a good debate but it so often degrades into juvenile name calling and it's not coming from me. I have a good friend who always was a bit of a conspiracy guy but since his wife died almost 2 years ago has taken a hard turn to the right. If we were in the states instead of northern Alberta he's be wearing a red hat for sure.

Came here to help nOObs with grow problems and get away from all the static for a while anyway.

Did you get all the info you needed about RO systems? One of these days I'll get around to installing all the parts for the system I bought a couple years ago. Pulling our water out of a dugout in my yard so needs extra filtration and a UV sterilizer to make sure we get good, safe drinking water.

I found one 6 part with uv sterilisation they say should make the water to 20 ppm and is i think 3:1 waste water i am gonna get that and then use it for drinking water as well.i dont need 0 just low enough to survive the seedling stage.

As for the instalation it comes connected i just have to mount it to a wall and conect the intake outtake...they say its simple should be.

By 6 part I'm assuming you mean 6-stage which means it probably has one stage to add healthy minerals back to the water. Should be ok for the plants and you won't have things like high iron, sodium, alkalinity etc to give you grief. We've been buying RO water ever since we moved up here exactly 24 years ago today, Valentine's Day.

Good luck with it!
