True story:

When I was a strapping young lad in the Boy Scouts, we'd do 2 canoe trips per year; 1 down the Allegheny & 1 down the Genesee. We always had a cool chaperone (or any 18 yr old back then) that would get the beer for us (usually Genesee Cream Ale, aka "Green Death" or regular "Whities" or "White Label", it was only like .69 cents per 6 pack lmao). We'd raft up however many canoes and just drift along and smoke and drink while everybody else was a couple miles ahead of us.

Many were the times that the (pissed off) Scout Master would paddle back upstream to find us and see what the hold-up was, only to find us all fucked up and laughing at him. He was cool too but couldn't let it be known amongst the minions.

One of the usual Chaperones was a guy named Jim B, who happened to be one of the OG Indica (skunk) growers back then (him and a few of his buddies we called "Lawyers in Love" bc they thought they were the "Law" when it came to the infamous "Alleheny Indica" (in '83 Jackson Browne released the song, but my buddy Toby coined the phrase a cpl of yrs prior to that) lmfao

I saw three teenagers perform the funkiest shakedown street rendition at the fair in 2019 and I never caught their band name. I figure by now they should be playing at bars if they’re still together.

in my younger days it was head banging. listening to this now. it's like the perfect music to have a bbq and a bunch of folks smoking, eating and listening to this. i know a lot of bands give off that vibe, but this is like music you can do whatever and still carry on a conversation if you know what i mean. i'm baked now and have their greatest hits on now.

One would think that with the passing of Jerry and time in general that the population of Deadheads would be down to a couple of dozen people living in the woods and eating psychedelics all day. Quite the opposite happened. I think there are probably more supporters now than ever. Bobby and Jerry did sing something about a long strange trip…
