Tough loss to cope with, always good to have fond memories of times well spent with best friendsHe was the best dog I've had got 8 yrs with him so can't complain, on the bright side our pet food bill dropped ten fold
In theory and in practice, yup more bud sites but smaller buds. That’s why low and high stress training, topping, and scrog netting are common practice when plant count is a legitimate concernIntermediate Grow Question
If you spread the plant out, level the canopy. There still has to be only so much that can be delivered to the bud sites.
More buds, smaller size?

Yeah they will be on the back deck and get maybe three hours of sunlight a day. The black plastic I had there that like funnels down to a paper plate to catch the pollen or so i thought lol but that’s just what someone told me to do I’ve never done it. I’m hoping I can get pollen off it before I have to worry about too much heat but I’ll definitely keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t get too warm. Appreciate it as always bro!i would get the black plastic off the pots, thats going ot get hot enough in direct sunlight to burn leaf tissues.
Collecting pollen on black plastic in sunlight=dead pollen as well, def get some white vinyl or some oil slick sheets imho. If those pollen grains get up over about 101f they die really easy, and black plastic in direct sun low wind, in 75f air can easily reach 120f
i also recommend spray-painting black containers white regardless of what species is in them if they are in direct sunlight.
Those plants also need to be weaned into real sunlight if theyre already that old grown indoors, they look fine for a couple days then theyl sun burn and their new growth will go all twisted and warped for a bit. If youre just collectin gpollen though, put them somewhere theyre only getting 1 or 2 hrs direct a day, rest shade, and leave them there. Theyll prob stay in flower more then long enough to collect before spring is even over before reveg, the nyoull get another chance this fall should there be any issuesmales make more then enough pollen only getting an hour or two direct sun if its real sun
i give 2 hours direct sun a day for about 5 days to week before i throw them in full sun, by the end of that 5 days usually giving 3-4 hours direct sun. Seedlings are actually much much easier to wean into real sunlight then mature growth thats always been under grow lights. Im planting my popped seeds for outdoors today, and ill have them in full sun outside within 3 weeks Tops. Prob more like 2 weeks.

It'll work fine if you collect plenty. I've done it with black surfaces and you get viable pollen, it's just noticably less viable then pollen collected on white surfaces or in the shade. Pollen and seed both can take crazy cold and crazy dry. Not the other way around at all tho unfortunately.Yeah they will be on the back deck and get maybe three hours of sunlight a day. Dead ass I’ve never even seen a full grown male plant so idek if the pollen is going to fall into the plate or I can just shake it into something to collect it or what but here is to learning loli would get the black plastic off the pots, thats going ot get hot enough in direct sunlight to burn leaf tissues.

Hell yeah man I appreciate it.It'll work fine if you collect plenty. I've done it with black surfaces and you get viable pollen, it's just noticably less viable then pollen collected on white surfaces or in the shade
I wait til a bunch of flowers start to open then cut the flower stalk and put it in a cup of water sitting on a big square of foil somewhere shady and dry.
It'll survive for a week or two like that dropping pollen the whole time. I'll take every foil square and crease it and drop it into a paper envelope once a day. Once I got plenty collected in the envelope I put that in a ziplock and flatten all the air out and put it in the deep freeze. I apply with a small clean paint brush.
It'll keep for years this way. I've pulled seeds from 6 year old deep freeze pollen stored this way. Not a lot but I got em. You just can't re-store it once you pull it out. And if you ever store it make sure it comes up to room temp before you open it. Condensation will kill the pollen
Make sure you collect every day once it's dropping if outside, the nightly dew fall will kill the pollen
Hey BB.....Seriously, it all depends on room.....Thanks
Brings me to my next question. If you or any else cares to join in.
How many nodes in a one to two gallon pot, soil. Before flip. Trying to grow perpetual
Appreciate the help![]()
I don’t know a magic answer to that question, too many variables to consider. If you are working with two different tents or areas I’d just run a tent at 12/12 and one at 18/6 and rotate them in and out. I struggle finding a perfect balance for any real type of perpetual grow due to space constraints. I have six plants in veg ready to flip right now that are all over five to six months old according to pictures from my phone they sprouted mid October. In a perpetual process they should have been rotated in and out of my tents within 4 months from sprouting. Instead they were crammed into a 2x2 and neglected half to death before space opened up in the 3x3 , at which point they needed another month to bounce back from deaths doorstep and adjust to their new surroundings and up potting. Thanks

Fish don’t sleep, that includes sharks
So here’s what three of my neglected plants looked like two weeks agoI don’t know a magic answer to that question, too many variables to consider. I would just do the exact opposite of what I did.
I would say in an ideal setup with healthy plants two weeks in seedling stage 3-4 in veg, and then if they look healthy into the flower tent they go.
I don’t grow perpetually but I’d love to eventually. I’ve been reading stuff from growers like @figolus who go straight to 12/12 from seed recently. Thanks
