He used to show me pictures of all the wild cannabis that he found growing up in the Ozarks. He said that stuff used to grow in the ditch on the side of the road everywhere 🤣
We're growing it like crazy since the 2018 farm bill. I just made my wife some fresh oil and caps.

I love the stuff. You can smoke or vape and it has a great taste, too little thc to do anything but mixing it up in a j is nice. Ingesting is probably best way to get thr full effect and of course thr sauve. Wife still suffers neuropathy foot pain she swears by the relief it gives her. We should all be growing one with high cbd levels😉

Hell of a question, bought in 2021, 100 seeds for $50. It was like February and I wasn't very successful popping seeds. Set it up in a spare bedroom and ended up with 4 seedlings. Grew them on the greenhouse (no lights at that time) all 4 flowered, 2 had soda can maybe larger around colas. I harvested the 2 smaller ones and the 2 largest revegged as the days became longer. I took cuts and here we are 5 years later🤣 I need to check on some auto seeds I have later today so I'll look and see who's farm I got them from😉

I appreciate it. I’d love to grow some for nothing else other than it being a beautiful plant.

You should really put chick wire cages around seedlings and be bit afraid of pyrethrin in veg(literally just crisanthemun extract) Seriously. It's still shocks me everyday that the entire grow world moved away from pyrethrin just because some forums got to confused with with permethrin (synthetic plasticized compound intended to have an extremely long half life) 15 years ago, and retailers ran hard with it because you make a higher profit margin off spinosad anyway because it's a cultured and fermented product, not synthesized or manufactured from extracts like pyrethrin . Also the echo Chambers. Always the echo chambers 🤣

I haven't lost one to predation since I started doing that like 10 years ago. Not a single one.

Doing a dozen chick wire cages costs about $10 and takes about 15 mins of time. Literally 100% of everything I see everyone else do to try and keep predators off their seedlings plants is:

1: not anywhere near as effective

2: cost more money and takes more time to implement

3: by contrast is kinda sorta a total waste of time, money, effort, and resources pretty often🤣

And honestly I even use permethrin under very specific context. If I know a plant is not going to be flowered within 60 days and I'm bringing a phone inside from outside I will per meter in the f*** out of that thing. Every time. And I will never ever see a mite on my indoor plants. Something else I also haven't seen in over a decade now

P.s. pyrethrin even kills mite eggs. Should you have a spider mite infection on vegging plants you can completely get rid of it in a two-day back to back treatment with pyrethrin. Or you can use half a bottle of spinosad over the course of two weeks and you *might* have the same result. But then you also be finding dead butterflies and beneficials for the next month afterwards, which does not have happened with pyrethra and it breaks down in the sunlight in about 2 days

It is important though, that permethrin is NOT confused with pyrethrin. Not the same thing at all. Permethrin and cypermethrin is what the pest man sprays on apartment buildings once a month lol. Pyrethrin is a chrysanthemum extract with a very short half life.

Pyrethrin is how chrysanthemums and marigolds keep your garden free of pests. They are where it comes from

One interesting thing about bugs is how they will often gang up and go after one plant and leave others alone. I got an invasion of spider mites on my cucumbers which I had parked right next to my cannabis, which they never touched. Likewise with scale bugs. They went after my jalapeños but left the weed alone. Eventually they'll circle back and devour everything but it's nice to see that cannabis isn't the first plant to draw their attention. With one exception... Goddamn thrips!

@TheGoldenRoad

If you have ear wigs where you live, they can do that damage too, theyll make a nest in the bottom of your pot, and drive you mad trying to figure out how shit keeps eating on the plant.

If you see snail or slug damage, but NO slime trails, you have earwigs, not snails or slugs. the more ya know i guess

I could honestly write a book on overlooked and misunderstood cannabis growing topics i think.
@BearWater read this post, reminds me of the mystery monster that you were contending with a few months ago.

Un pince-oreille in french
an ear clip

Latin : Forficula auricularia

Pince oreille allie potager une 1106840351

It is generally considered a gardener's helper because it is a major consumer of so-called "harmful" or "pest" insects. It also consumes very ripe or decomposing plants (flower petals, fruit—peaches, plums, or apricots in particular—vegetables, and cut plant roots).

It is often wrongly accused of being a harmful pest. When it appears to infest a plant or garden area, which is rare, it is often abundant because its prey is abundant.

I used to be afraid of ear wigs, as I was calling it when I was growing up, my parents told me that they would get into your ear. 😱

And then Star Trek II The WRATH of Khan came out... AND AT THAT POINT.. ALL BETS WERE OFF! 🤣😱

Damn Khan, why you gotta be so mean??
Reminds me of having pressure equalizing tubes put in my ear drums. They poke a hole in your eardrum and then insert a tiny tube into the hole, it’s tapered towards the middle from both sides so it stays put, eventually your ear drum pushes it out. Ahhh the joy of being an adult with horrible seasonal allergies and a set of tonsils. I’m constantly losing my hearing because of those damn glands or whatever they are in the back of my throat.
