The past two years, I had mice chewing on plants.. and gophers eating roots..

yes..those boxes have half inch wire mesh (hardware cloth) on the bottoms ;)

I had mice chewing on smart pots last year too. But I think they might be safe to use this year.

The 1st year, I set lots of traps..they didnt work well. and if the mice chew all the way around the trunk...the plant dies :(

Last year..I tried traps and Tangle foot(sticky stuff) and I put plastic bottles on the trunks to protect them..that helped some.

I had squirrels eating my carrots and kale. Borrowed a trap and Ive since relocated 2 of them!;)

I put up some horizontal trellis netting up above the plants at 8ft :)

I starved a lot of them in too small of pots:( .. But I think those are coming around now.

The super happy big bushes are starting to finally lose some older inner leaves and
I am doing a lot of pruning on the insides of them now :)
