Titanium Nail degradation over time..?

Ti cant stay stable forever getting red hot....at SOME point, one would assume its life is over. Anybody have a clue what the signs are that the metal is beat? Common sense tells me I cant heat metal to red hot forever without some degradation..maybe I am wrong.
