Do the other nutrients you use have calcium or magnesium in it already?

I always use it but not because I've seen deficiency, I was always told it's important so ive always added it.

If I'm growing in soil like Fox Farm, I don't add any nutrients until around 4-6 weeks. I start adding nutrients in small amounts, calmag I start at 2-3 ml/gal and after 2 weeks go to 5 ml/gal where it stays until late flower.
If I'm growing in Pro-Mix, I do the same but I'll start adding nutrients at day 10 because of the lack of nutrients in the medium.

If you've never used it before, it would be neat to do a side by side grow with only 1 plant getting calmag and everything else the same to see if there's any major differences.

I don't use it. Instead, I use Epsom salt and gypsum. We have plenty of calcium in our water, so I rarely add gypsum. That's the main reason I don't use calmag, which is blended at a predetermined ratio. If using pure water that doesn't have minerals dissolved in it, like RO or distilled water, I think it would make sense to use calmag with the expectation that it's a ratio favorable for cannabis.

It depends on your feeding regimen, water quality, and media. A given cultivar under a given light will need at least X amount of Ca and Y amount of Mg. That can come from the water, the media, base nutes, or a supplement.

My tap water doesn't trigger my ec meter so it's less than 100ppm.
