I would leave em in their contrainers till they show roots on the bottoms and then uppot ( since such short cycle you got left, I would get a 5-25 gal to fit the plant for it’s rest of its life )
You didn't mention what state or area you are in, but Hell no, it ain't too late. Here in Vermont I have started plants outside in early July and had them reach 5 or 6 feet. Loosen your soil well, add some Mycorrhizae to the root area and plant away, you should get some decent plants.
