I've been off the site for half a year, lingering quietly in the background from time to time lol. I'm going to take up posting my progress again this year, but much less regularly... Social media is poison for my brain in large doses. Too much time spent here is basically the equivalent for me. 🤷‍♂️

This is my first flower run with this strain. I popped the Mother plant late in the fall of 2020. I've been getting to know her ever since.

She finally taught me to feed more intuitively as we went through some minor issues in veg. Burned and/or bleached tips. Taco leaves etc. I know her much better in veg now, I selected my 4 best clones, she cloned perfectly, no die off at all. So far flower is going well. Its the last day of week 4 today, they are a little behind the Dresden on the same day of the last crop but they will feed for a week longer. Should balance out.

This is also an experiment in tent population. I can have 25 legally, so far I've flowered up to 12 at a time. With every crop that number has been reduced. As I reduce the population, my yield and finished quality has consistently gone up. I'm on track, through patient training on these four plants, to meet or exceed any previous yield so far... at a significantly reduced cost. Nutrients and labor. 😁

I'll put up a current pic before I log off for the month, later today. They wake up in about an hour and a half...

I hear you about social media, I got rid of all mine 2 or 3 years ago. This is the only place I read and post. This place is less social media and more like YouTube comment section meets reddit. 🤣

Well put! 🤣 Too much of anything can be bad. Lol I'm a child of the '80's... I don't think I have the correct circuitry installed for Social media. This is the only place I post as well. Got off FB in 2016... Never tweeted, never instagrammed... Or anything else.

Ok, one photo bomb and I'm done posting until harvest time.

Last day of week 4 in flower, just waking up. Lights still at about 15%... Takes an hour for it all to come on and hit full strength. I feel like they are doing very well in there. Especially for a first time through flowering.

Quick shots of the mom's. Dresden on the left. Tropic punch on the right. Those two will provide for me one more time before being allowed to retire.

In the nursery, 24/0 schedule for two weeks starting out. Heat, circulation and exhaust settings for the curious... Day 5/6 today, wiping and airing out the dome daily. 15 Dresden Green Diamond/4 Tropic Punch... Of that I need one of each to replace the current mom.... Not sure why I took so many. 🤷‍♂️ Stoned probably. Its too early to clone for the next crop by a couple weeks or so. They look fine, got the first watering today.

My watering notes, my whiteboard notes, my calendar... Its all here. A little eccentric in spots but its all here... Plus my little rosin press! (I'm up to about 25% return consistently on the DGD)

Until harvest then... 😁

Ok, One post. I'm proud of this... And a tad embarrassed but its fixed. Something clicked today as I was watching new posts pop up while bored... I've always been fairly successful at cloning but... Since I left the weed farm the cloning has never gone as well for me. From cutting to rooting, the conditions I provide meet or exceed the farms nursery in every way. I use the same media, same hormone gel, even the same scissors lol. Procedures, cleanliness, Temps, humidity, lighting, schedule... Etc. Identical. Yet my clones, despite being successful, are always struggling to some degree and take longer than they should. I cloned from younger plants last time and really noticed a difference in the timeline/well being of the clones.

Factor in the mother tent... For once.

I'll be the first to admit that it was basically slapped together in the dark under a green head light... Not a lot of actual thought has gone into it. Until today. I struggle to keep the moms happy after a few months as well, everything lives, but nothing thrives... some of this is due to the roots filling out the pot a bit much months in, but mostly its the way the tent set up was slapped together. Unhappy Mom's make fussy unhappy clones. Something I knew but still took no immediate effort to achieve. I can do better.

The changes were quite simple really and I'll bet it makes all the difference. The old setup can be seen in the last post. The mom's are already improving...

(Really all I did was put in a new less powerful fan on the intake to match the exhaust, move the plants and lights to the right, humidifier to the left, moved the left circ fan down 18", removed the right circ fan completely.... And vented the exhaust over the wall.)

Cloning in about a week while I slog through yet another struggling but surviving trial batch. I want happy plants from square one this time and from now on.

Quick update on the changes made yesterday to the mom tent. The trickiest thing about running a 3 tent perpetual grow in 65 square feet of space is balancing the temps and humidities for the 3 micro climates I actively maintain. Especially when one or two tents go into their respective dark periods... that can drastically affect the nursery. One tent affects the others, most often in unforeseen ways.

Daytime has been manageable, a bit hot in flower, a bit cool in veg. After yesterday my temps, Day and night in the mom tent have gone up about 2 degrees and they smell happier. (Its night in there, my nose will have to do) the night temp in flower is down a degree, great! My nursery dropped to 23 degrees before I intervened. As long as I pop in every morning to seal the dome before night begins next door, I think I can more than live with these results. Its sealed up and running about 26 C now.

First time through with this strain. I would concede to a partial defeat haha. I had some issues going into flower... Rectified for next round now, I'm confident that I'm moving forward.

I'm cloning from a vetted mom for my last crop before summer. No screwing around on this one. That harvest carries me through to the fall.

Beautiful small buds. 🤷‍♂️ maybe half a pound.... likely less. They look, smell and feel great. Harvest tomorrow, today they sleep in a cold tent.

Very pretty! But yes, daintier than usual. What's the smell like?
True to the name. Mango/pineapple smell coming up to week 4 of flower, then it takes on a more telltale chronic smell alongside the fruity notes. I'm looking forward to the test drive in a few weeks.

Popcorn! Mostly popcorn. What a nightmare to trim lol. I did actually get to dry in my tent for once... Veg is running a week or two behind... I didn't turn on the humidity though. Ffs. Popcorn buds were almost popcorn dry inside of 36 hours... Oops. No biggie, rehydration is easy after a shorter sweat in the jar. 331 grams went trimmed into the rack for a few hours to ensure enough dry time before jarring... Since I'm likely rehydrating anyway. 🤷‍♂️ I regret it every time I skip the rack. Adding humidity is easy, no fix for mold.

Trichome like I've never seen before on these little buds, it was floating through the air making me sneeze the whole time I was trimming. Coming off the scissors and buds like dust. Layers and layers of it. Unbelievable. The stickiest bud I've ever trimmed by a bit for sure. Cleaning scissors after every few snips. Truly painstaking lol. I'll try and get a good light on them in the morning for some pictures.

Drying/Decarbing some particularly funky trim now... Already drinking coffee... Sleep is not on the menu tonight. Know when to fold em. The buds can't be in the rack for long.

I learned much more than I thought I would need to on this round. Taking a breather and going back to seed on this strain. Date not yet determined, I have a dozen more strains to investigate.

331 grams went in. 296 grams came out. I think my weight will come back up a hair. That's it for this thread aside from the smoke report.

I snuck into the big jar yesterday as it hit 65% humidity and became sample able.

Nice dense little nugs, lots of trichome throughout. Going into the grinder it had still not quite developed its proper smell, coming out it smelled just like fruit punch after being freshly ground.

It smoked well, whitish ash, nice flavor, no harshness to it. Very much a late harvest indica, (Hybrid yes, but mostly indica... for the genetics snobs) definitely a couch lock factor but still buzzing me out in the front of my head and eyes. I promptly got back on sugar and demolished a dozen cookies before settling into what ended up being an early bed time.

A couple weeks of curing to go. At least.

Put some TP through the press today. Just over 5 grams in, just under a gram and a half out. Collected at room temperature, (24C) immediately after pressing, no freezer, no cold plate. Once I formed it into a ball and stabilized it in the freezer it became almost rock hard even after letting it come back up to room temperature.

Look at that color!!!

Squished 20 grams total. Got 5 grams back. First press was at a lower temp... came out more crumbly/waxy, the shiny portions are closer to shatter. Pressed the shiny stuff at 215F (5 degrees higher) Stopped when my container was full. Still rock hard at room temperature, just a little tacky to the touch. Smokes very smooth, tastes great!
