Awesome setup you got there man!
I'm having the same problem with humidity at night. When my light goes off the humidity can reach 99%, was fine while vegetating but im gonna switch to 12/12 today and a dehumidify will be my next purchase to room. What I've been doing to decrease the Rh levels is keeping the exhaust fan running all day, which sucks everything that is in the air.
Good luck & congrats!

Hey thanks for continuing this journal bro. I'm looking forward to picking up a UC, and this journal is great for giving me an idea of what's needed and what issues to expect in this scale of a grow with the UC.

First post here, but just wanted to say thanks to you an all the others in the UC forum for the great info that's here.

Best, wishes and keep the root porn coming! :pimp:

Stu, I'm a tinkerer from wayback, and I have been toying with the idea of using 2 old car radiators as coolers, with a canfan pushing air through them. I would pump water through them from a reservoir cooled by a copper coil running tap water, plumbed between the intake tap and the house water. Here in Colo, city water comes into the house at 60 degrees or so... this way I'm thinking I get chilled water every time water is used in the house, hot or cold, and that could be used to chill the growroom? Put the pump and canfans on a thermostat and CHILL, or maybe you can tell me where my thinking is awry?

Don't use old radiators, use new heater cores. They are ~22$. Not sure I would do it drain to waste though vs a chiller, unless you are on a well.

Man those roots do not look good to me... your plants should be way bigger at that stage... it really looks like the same problem that i was going through.. If i was you i would cut off those nasty roots drop the water level, hand water, and foliar feed... check out my page bro i had the same problem

I am by no means educated about any of this growing stuff, but shouldnt that A/C be turned around and not facing the wall?
Or is it even a A/C unit, again I dont know anything but saw that in pic so I am going to ask!!

Sorry I have been lacking posts and pictures. Thanks to everyone that made it over here and showed me some love.

Since my last post I went ahead a picked up some Clearex from the shop and gave the girls a 20 min. rinse. I had 2 buckets for the rinse. The first bucket was just tap water with no clearex. The second bucket was RO water PHed at 5.8 and below 100 ppm. After going through all four plants the PPM was still sub 100 on my meter.

It has been 2 days for that minor rinse of the roots. And I am finally starting to see new root growth and more plant growth.

The few factors that are playing into this long veg time I think are. First off I had put aero clones into RW cubes. Totally changing the root system of the plant and causing some stress. Also I waited so long to do a flush/rinse in the root zone. I have yet to change the rez and have just been adding base nutes and a few other additives. I know this isn't the right thing to do but this tent set up and lack of room/space is really getting on my nerves.

The Pre 98 Bubba (bottom right in picture) is loving this environment and the nutes. It has blown up in size and the root mass is still the largest of the 4.

Also I am getting plans rolling on my build out. Wish I would have done this first. Knowing what I know now. Hope to see you all over there should be a lot of fun. Stu's NEW build out.

Moving the air inside the tent and out is an option. But I will be running Co2 and this will not work to well. I would recommend getting an AC window unit that has a dehumidify setting on it. The Dehumidifier that I have adds a lot of unneeded heat into the grow area. Just my 2 cents.

Looking good Stu! Glad to see you back... :cool

Thanks Shady for the good vibes. You are killing it making it look easy man.

Eather000 thanks for gracing this thread with your first post. Welcome to the greener side of the grass. Keep and eye out and hope to see you back.

+1 what RMCG said. Unless you are living on a well and have free water. That is going to be costly. With water temps that High only expect to see a 10 degree difference of air temp from the air entering the coil vs the air leaving the coil. That would be roughly with 80 degree air coming in.

Don't use old radiators, use new heater cores. They are ~22$. Not sure I would do it drain to waste though vs a chiller, unless you are on a well.

Thanks for the hard work and digging for the info RMCG.

Like RMCG said the brown discoloration of the roots is from the Roots Excel. Thanks for keeping an eye out for me I will check out the problem you were having.

The brown roots is from Roots Excel, not slime.

Again man you are on top of my journal more than I am. Can't say that's a bad thing. Thanks RMCG.

Hey FFK. That AC you is placed that way for a few reasons. The air entering the top (evaporator coil) and bottom (condenser coil) need not have anything blocking the front of them. If I were to flip it around the fan has such a high static pressure that it wold suck the tent in covering the coils and eventually burning up my compressor.

This damn tent is giving me more head aches than anything. Thanks for stopping by and asking questions. They say no question is a stupid question, as long as you are learning.

hey man looking great keep up the good work

Thanks for the good vibes sourkush.

Hey thanks for the feedback. Using heater cores makes sense. The water coming into the house is 55 degrees now, betting it won't get over 60 in summer. Now, onto the free water concern; i perhaps didn't explain very well that i plan to have two separate water circuits. The first is house tapwater, to be used in the normal way. It just passes through a coil within a large reservoir of water on its way to its eventual use, like watering the lawn or into the hot water tank. The coil is meant only to exchange heat with a working fluid in the reservoir, not to mix with the water in the reservoir. The second system is a recirculating setup. A pump moves water through the heater cores and back to the reservoir. This water might have some antifreeze in it to help it exchange its heat better, but the loop is closed; it doesn't drain away, just gets pumped around. The reservoir would be big, at least a 55 gallon drum, insulated to stay cool. The pump and the canfans that flow air through the heater cores would be controlled by a thermostat. This way, anytime tapwater is used, it passes through the coils and cools the reservoir, which is then used as needed to run through the heater cores. This is a lot like a car radiator, only in reverse. What i am wondering is what math i need to do to know how much cold tapwater it will take to cool a sealed room per 1000 watt bulb. Even if it is a large amount, then this would still help reduce the load on a chiller, which itself could easily be plumbed into the reservoir. Does this make any more sense?

Day lost count VEG

Well after the cut back on the LVPK they are looking good bouncing back. Added 2ml per gallon of Heavy A and B. Just waiting for a little more growth then flipping them and throwing them in my veg build out for time being (I'm sick of this tent.)
