hi guys new uk grower here just about to do FB W/W in DWC so soons ready to go will update and see what you guys thinks
Nice man ππ What were they? What are you planning on running next? π±She looks it!
To be honest, I have been finding it difficult enough to get a decent shot with a bridge camera, let alone my phone. I've just taken my plants down so I'm off the hook for a while. These were mine, in my titchy-tent a short while before the day came...
Hey man ππ Its taken me hours to work out that "FB W/W" means Fast Buds White Widow, lol π πππ¨hi guys new uk grower here just about to do FB W/W in DWC so soons ready to go will update and see what you guys thinks
Thanks mukka!Nice man ππ What were they? What are you planning on running next? π±
yeah im going with a w/w and got a haze for next so will follow and pick up some tips if you guys dont mindThanks mukka!
Yeah the two on the left are different phenos of Chocolate Mint OG Auto by Humboldt Seed Organisation and on the right is a Sour Diesel Automatic from IceHeadShop.
I shan't grow again until Autumn or Spring, to keep growroom temperatures reasonable.
I am not sure what I will grow next yet, but the plan is to go with photoperiods.
At the moment, I am considering an Afghan and Ketama which I'd love to cross. I've built quite a seedbank during lockdown though, so I could go with a more predictably consistently yielding option such as Northern Lights, White Widow or Amnesia Haze.
Been meaning to give it a go for yrs, but risk was abit to high if you get my drift lol,so yeah thrown myself in at the deep end I know, but I like numbers an data an all that crap, so I thought Id give it a go, esp seeing some DWC grows like wow, so yeah jumped in been doing all my research and gathering up as much as I can, just been get to grips with PH PPM EC TEMPS HUM, etc, and understanding my nutrients and water, so now Im at that stage were I put theory into practise, lol as the next bits I can only learn by growing, but things at halt atm, dropped ph meter in water now its naff, so waiting for new one, so once ive got that I can be safe and make a startThey're a great choice, you won't be disappointed!
Wow, straight to DWC, how exciting. From what I have seen the growth in DWC is out the park :)
I did a couple of hydroponic grows 25 years ago, but I've been organic in soil the last few years as I have gotten back into it. I'd love to give DWC a shot in a few years.
I'll follow your grow with great interest.
Best of Luck,
Midge
I'm in organic soil too. I started off in coco years back and then transitioned to soil for simplicity. Inititially I found it gave significantly lower yields, but just by mixing coco into my soil it bumped the yields back up to coco-like levels ππ I now get the good yields but with the soil/organic quality, its best of both worlds (imo). Thanks mukka!

I've never tried hydro. I understand the basics and could probably build a functioning rdwc system from diy parts, but when it comes to the feeding and general maintenace and plant health, in hydro I know nothing. You already know more about running a hydro system and the feeds etc than I do, if you're ready to get started, lolπ . Its something ive wanted to explore further just for my own knowledge base so starting at the beginning will be perfect and I'll be learning from you as you goβΊπ. What does the rest of your set up look like @spab - lights, nutes, dwc system etc etc? Cant wait to get started, lol, make sure you post a link to your journal!! ππBeen meaning to give it a go for yrs, but risk was abit to high if you get my drift lol,so yeah thrown myself in at the deep end I know, but I like numbers an data an all that crap, so I thought Id give it a go, esp seeing some DWC grows like wow, so yeah jumped in been doing all my research and gathering up as much as I can, just been get to grips with PH PPM EC TEMPS HUM, etc, and understanding my nutrients and water, so now Im at that stage were I put theory into practise, lol as the next bits I can only learn by growing, but things at halt atm, dropped ph meter in water now its naff, so waiting for new one, so once ive got that I can be safe and make a start
I am no expert, but at 60W I can't see why it wouldn't be fine.does anybody know much about electrics on here, as i was thinking you know if I could be possible, to wire me LED light into my grow room light fixture, that way I could get that wire out the wire, as it still be run on housing trip switch if any failures, or would it be an overload but been informed that LED only draws 60w, Im no sparky but cant see why it wouldnt as longs a sparky does installation!!!!!
Not explicitly this time, I have before, but the mix I am using would be equivalent imho. 50% Biobizz All-Mix and 50% Ecothrive Ecolife Soil are both aimed at growing cannabis.I'm in organic soil too. Inititially I found it gave significantly lower yields, but just by mixing coco into my soil it bumped the yields back up to coco-like levels ππ I now get the good yields but with the soil/organic quality, its best of both worlds (imo).
Do you mix coco into your soil @midgesmith ? What lights and feed are you using?
Ive used allmix for about 10 years, lol βΊπ It was in allmix that I first realised how much of a difference mixing coco into the soil makes βΊ I sometimes use batmix soil for flower, or will use allmix and add guano πNot explicitly this time, I have before, but the mix I am using would be equivalent imho. 50% Biobizz All-Mix and 50% Ecothrive Ecolife Soil are both aimed at growing cannabis.
Allmix is: 30% garden peat base, 30% perlite and 20% sphagnum peat moss for water retention and texture, 10% organic worm hummus, with micro and macro nutrients and 5% BioBizz Pre-Mix organic fertiliser.
Ecothrive Eco Life Soil is: Irish Sphagnum Peat Moss, Coco Coir, Pumice, Vermicompost (Worm Castings), Mealworm Frass (Charge), Neem Cake, Seaweed meal, Crustacean meal, Volcanic Rockdust, Gypsum, Calcium and Magnesium Limestone & Humic and Fulvic Acids. So a lot of good drainage, a little water retention and buckets of organic nutrition. I have also used Ecothrive's Charge and Biosys to boost the soils microbial and mycorrhizal life.
I am feeding with Biobizz Grow & Bloom with some CalMag (as my EC is only 25% of that recommended) and TopMax fumic & fulvic acids.
The light is a Kingbrite 320W 3000K dimmed to max 75% as more than that causes light stress in my 60cm x 120cm tent. Extraction is via an AC Infinity with AC67 humidity and temperature sensors and controller. Watered to runoff every 2 - 3 days depending on how thirsty they are. The roots are heated with heatmat under all the Airpots and air heated with a tubeheater in the tent. The humidity is controlled outside the tent with a dehumidifier, keeping the inside of the tent to fairly optimal RH ranges.
I have literally no idea what my yields will be like this time as I am still a few days away from trimming and curing most of it. If I was to guess though, I would say around 2oz each plant π€·ββοΈ
I haven't looked at their see auctions, though I might, I am sitting on 100 seeds roughly at the moment and I am between periods of solvency, having recently configured my growing area and tent :)
Seems like a lot of people are reckoning on upwards of 4oz per plant with similar conditions, though I am yet to learn what I should improve first.
Many people seem to move on from Biobizz nutrients, though to be honest if there are no deficiencies and the plants seem happy, I wouldn't have thought that was a particularly weak link.
I wondered if I would be better off with some kind of watering system like a blumat for each pot to keep the soil at optimal moisture levels in perpetuity rather than doing a flood and dry cycle...
I will that in mind when the time comes been thinking about why are some fans in boxes etc, but thats summits I can look into going forward, esp if I want to increase my yield@midgesmith One more thing I forgot to mention in my reply, have you considered getting an intake fan? It will make a huge difference to your plant health and will also enable you to grow in the warmer months π.
When I first started growing, I only had a fan on my outtake for about the first two years. Upgrading to an active intake, with fresh air, made such a difference. I wished I had done it sooner, and would never consider going without one again. I now feel its as integral as the outtake, or the lights. This may also be another overlooked factor to take into consideration when comparing your yield to others in similar setups etc ππ
(A tip for anyone interested - fan noise - By putting my intake and out take fans in cardboard boxes stuffed with clothes and using accoustic ducting, it has reduced the noise from the fans to almost nothing. Ive tried expanding foam and mdf boxes etc in the past and quite honestly, this worked the best and was also by far the cheapest and easiest way).
hi guys just for your info, im going to just add on to this feed about my grow and all the details, as just wanna keep all advise and info in the same place, hope that is ok to do that,@midgesmith One more thing I forgot to mention in my reply, have you considered getting an intake fan? hi guys!!!!!because im just starting from scratch not getting an extractor and filter for a few wks yet, got this on the cheap with temp varaiable speed, and timer on, so would this be ok and would it do the job any help not sure if its big enough or what

Are you asking me?!?lol π This isnt my thread mate, I'm just a guest tooπ βΊ I dont care where you post but what I would say is that you'll prob get more responses if you start a new thread, and also post specific questions etc, as I dont think this thread gets much traffic, lol π Its usually tumbleweeds and crickets in here, I think people see the π¬π§ and keep walking, lol ππ So you might be limiting/restricting yourself quite a bit in terms of input.hi guys just for your info, im going to just add on to this feed about my grow and all the details, as just wanna keep all advise and info in the same place, hope that is ok to do that,
