I need to upgrade my vacuum pump and I want to be able to control the ultimate vacuum reasonably well. The solutions I’ve come down to are a decent vacuum gauge plus an inline vacuum regulator or this:
This seems like a damn sexy solution to the problem and it is actually cheaper than the individual components but there is a voice in the back of my head that says I’d be better off with individual components. If one part fails I’m just replacing that after all. The one hang up I have is the vacuum regulators seem like they are either insanely expensive or best suited for a goat grope (literally).
Has anyone found a mechanical vacuum regulator that they are happy with and have any of you used the elitech pumps?
