Some plant species do fine in clear pots - like orchids. Makes sense as they naturally grow in trees and roots are exposed to light. Cannabis not so much. Do a search on negative tropism.

See i understand everyone saying cannabis plant roots don’t like it but im seen no negative affects on plant life? The 3 autos are starting to just flower so im guessing we will see how good it really is when it’s fully budded

I think with that spectrum light and the shade they're getting from above they're fine.

It doesn't mean they like light. They'll adapt and stay away from the sides of your container as best they can and you will still have healthy plants, yes.

You're adding a little stress and making your container smaller but these fuckers like that sometimes anyway.

They'll be fine 👍🏼

Cannabis roots shy away from light in a mechanism called negative phototropism. A clear solo cup ain't gonna kill your plant but you're hindering what your plant could be doing. Not gonna argue the point. Do a side by side comparison grow. Or don't. Your plant, your lost potential

The op can always make holes in a colored solo cup of the same size. Then he/she can nest the clear solo cup inside the colored one. This would allow for observation of the root growth yet also provide a dark environment for the roots while they are growing. This is a standard practice for some growers.
