Watering/misting while sunny

Is it alright to water your plants while the sun is still shining on them, I have been told that the plants will burn easily if I do that, even if I mist them, is this true?

None at the moment, my plants are still little babies =o, but I wanted to ask beforehand to make sure.

I just realized that you have two questions embedded into one. The thread title asks about misting in sunlight.

But I also notice you ask if it's alright to water them, which to me means watering at the roots. And if that's the other part of the question, it's perfectly fine to water during the day, even when it's hot.

It is not a good idea at all to mist, foliar feed or put anything that will interrupt that daytime transpiration or cause phototoxicity (and some feeds can do that), and thusly early morning or evenings are best.

So, watering/feeding during daylight, in direct sun = A-OK.
Misting/foliar feeding in the same = bad juju.

There is nothing wrong spraying mid day lights/sun as long as you can rehydrate your leaves and do not use a high ppm(900+) If you use high ppm is dries into a real high ppm(2000ppm) spot. JK

Thanks JK, I stopped sweating spraying with lights on and eased my schedule greatly with no ill effects after you said that in the last thread. Only times I get spots are when I drop my feed water on leaves while watering, with sprays/misting I have no issues. Mostly though I am doing PM sprays so its way low PPM.

OP is asking about water, not feed, and about doing this in sunlight, not indoors under artificial light. Early morning or evening near sundown is best.

Also, in terms of water conservation, in early evening, more of the water will go into the ground rather than evaporate.
