My pump went today and it cant be fixed until the spring,i am on the water, the lake has a clay bottom so the water is always dirty.my question is can i use this water to water my plants with all winter?i have an ice auger,a pump and i have a ski doo with a nice sleigh.i can fill up 6 buckets at a time....no problem at all.
So does anyone know if i can do this?

I'm thinking that water in a bucket should settle out or you could run it threw a filter. Clean it up some.
Then get a ppm or E.C on it.

That is dedication, awesome.

Could get a food grade ibc tote spend a day filling it up and you wouldn’t have to make so many trips.

Keep it dark and aerated so algae doesn’t grow.

I give compost teas with mollassas and kelp every watering so it always gets aerated.
Im going to get a big filter for the sediment, hopefully that does the trick
I put my hut out in front of my house about 500 yards out and pretty much fish every day.its like a cabin, all pine interior.i have a tv and dvd player all hooked up to 4 batteries and a 1000 watt inverter.ill filter and collect the water while im fishing....bring home water and dinner!!

A little can’t hurt you. If fact clay has an amazing surface area and can be quite valuable in the soil. Clay is anionic and has the capacity to bind and exchange loads of K, Ca and Mg.

Clay is a good thing as long as you can’t bounce a golf ball off the surface of your soil.
