I like those new reflectors. What model? If nothing else, you at least have much better light distribution, and probably penetration. If I were you, I'd get a trellis net in that room to spread out the branches a bit so the light can reach the lower branches better.

the magnum xxxls are perfect for spreading a wider foot print so if you have a multi light room it can really help alot. i got one in a jardin 150 i dont think i would recommend them for this set up sure it covers the whole tent but its only 4.7 anyway. i think i would recommend a shorter deeper hood that will penetrate deeper instead of wider for small areas. for your set up the xxxls are better then what you had. i can see the reflection on the back of your wall its a farther more even light spread.

Mylar on the walls would help reflect some of that light back to your plants; see how some of the light misses the crop entirely to go straight at the walls?
I like my xxxl, but I always place it in the center of the room, since it has such a huge footprint. I don't think these "focus" the light on the plants as well as smaller hoods, but they sure do throw the light out there!

I would not recommend mylar on your walls. I would recommend 1 coat flat "ceiling white" paint (85% Reflective) and 1-2 coats of elastomeric paint (90% Reflective), both @ $15/gallon or less.

Or if you have deep pockets try Titanium White paint (97.2% Reflective) @ $50/gallon as a top coat. I would still do a flat base over the semi-gloss you have currently on the CBS.

I have a few and love them, spreads light better allowing you to run them closer and they will cover 4.5 - 5' easy. The only thing i dont like is they dont hinge open so you can change bulbs and clean the glass, So im thinking about the blockbusters next time i need hoods.

ive been thinking about grabbing a couple of these and run a dual arc for each hood /do you think it would be over kill to have a 600/400 hps/mh dual arc in the ooochooo //i was thinking of taking out the glass and still being able to drop the lights to with-in-6-10 inches of the colas //any thought guys/gals

Hello all new 1st time poster so be gentle ha

gotta say, this room looks much better from the pics. those xxxl's are going to treat you well! they are worth their weight in gold (good thing they are so heavy eh!) and they are not nearly as heavy as those raptor hoods. pointless weight is all those are, you made a good descision!

agreed! no where near as focused but for a larger open space that's exactly what you want, bringing light to the corners!

I always just unhooked the duct off of the 8" port and stuck a towel in there for cleaning and bulb removal, works great! if you mount a dust shroom (or an equivalent praticulate filter) on the end then you wont have as big an issue with dust inside your reflector.

these hoods were really ment to run the 1500w bulbs but everyone using the 8" with a 1000w lamp seems to be pretty happy with them. as long as you run effective ventilation they will be great!
I know a guy that got set up with 6 of these hoods, 2 runs of 3 with a 10" max fan to a 10"x 8"x8" "Y". 8 inches off his plants and he maintains 75 degree days no problem.

These are exceptional hoods and matched up with the 1500 w 240v master blaster you can get some really insane colors out of your floral clusters.

cheers!
