coco going green due to algae wanting to stop the problem but just wondering is there any cheap alternatives that i can do to cover it up ive heard there is no need to stress over it as its not harmful to the plant but id rather not have algae growing :)

This is only really a “problem” when the plants are small.

As you’ve no doubt found, once the plants bushed out and the coco doesn’t get any direct light, it dies off

This is just a byproduct of the light hitting the media; it will happen and is generally harmless. A little extra media on top allows you to periodically turn the top layer, once you mix it up and it has no access to light the growth dies quickly.

I had a strawberry in coco that had moss growing this past winter. Once spring came the moss died and the plant is producing well. Sure with I had taken pictures.
