What do you do with your living soil after harvest?

Title says it all. Can you re use this living soil? Just pull the roots out and shake off the dirt? Or do you just dispose? First grow haven't gotten to that process yet.

Also when it comes to "cooking" the soil can I just bag up everything and leave it in my basement with Temps around 72 or does the soil actually need to be outside in the sun to "cook." ??? Never really understood this
