Hello fellow farmers. I'm looking for an alternative to canna Boost accelerator. I like the product but I think it is very overpriced compared to everything else on the market so I'm seeing what everyone else is using and why. My growing medium is Coco/coir. Thanks in advance. Pic from my last grow.

Dud,

That stuff is expensive! Read the label and make it yourself. Most of those “Specialized” cannabis plant food products are garbage. They charge loads of money for weak salt solutions.

Tough to say because the label doesn't list all the ingredients, but I suspect it's mostly sugar. You could try unsulphured blackstrap molasses.

I read that Sumo Boost is good, so I'm giving it a go for the first time. It's definitely cheaper than Canna Boost

Any bio bud booster is basically the same as Canna boost and they also have bio boost which I'm suspecting is the same as boost lol but my local hydro shop guy is a proper grower and gave me the heads up he said if j use pk and massive together it's the same as pk and boost he said that to me years ago ages ago he told me not to waste my money he also said a few drops of superthrive in every nutrient change less is better than more but it really does make them more vigorous and stronger

I've seen that in some of the shops here. I'm in Australia so some of the stuff I've seen like sumo isn't really available unless you get it online. I'll look into it.
I'm in Australia too if I can't find it locally I'll import it why not America usually takes a while to get through customs if you pay the standard shipping fees you pay extra and they release it quicker they are pricks for it lol

Boost and massive actually work I know what you mean though I look at Canna range and then look at green planet or advanced nutrients and think do I need all that and the answer is if your in Coco or soil or recirculating systems if your in recirculating it dwc no you don't if in soil yes because soil your actually not feeding the plants but actually your feeding the microbes and fungi when the poop they feed the plant there's been a big trend lately in using mineral nutrients with organic supplements (like the Green planet range ) now if your growing in Coco or dirt yes all the extras will work but not in recirculating it dwc you may aswell throw your money away because you don't need it as there is not beneficial fungi or microbes and the mineral nutrients feed the roots directly by using chelates and the benifits you get are not worth the extra money you pay for it and another thing with nutrients is that when you read the recommended ml per litre say it say between 3-5 ml/l we'll start at 2 ml and let the plant show you if it needs more but here's the thing 5ml is for CO2 and 3 ML is for adult plants that are real hungry most strains that have Afghan lineage (most strains have Afghan in them somewhere) don't eat much nutrient and they are happy on an ec of 1.2 at the most 1.8 with CO2 otherwise you actually get smaller buds the nutrient companies always recommend higher levels so you use more and buy more you think 1 or 2 ml a litre isn't much but it is when you are talking a res with1000l dumping it once a week adds up so I got told years ago make it that strong your leaves wrinkle then back off the strength until it stops wrinkling the leaves and leave it I also got told not to use pk boosters as they don't work and they ruin the flavour and only idiots buy them lol my old-school mate grows in Coco and had the best tasting Afghan landrace and he only uses gt Coco a and b molasses and rock resonator or Supa sticky at the end last two weeks rock resonator and water for the first week and only water in the last he don't flush other than that but he did say to me that pot size is.the most important thing he insists on 50 l plus they prefer to have more room than not enough when it comes to roots and don't be afraid to trim back the root ball so recap if in Coco or soil yes beneficial in clay balls or rockwool no just use the nutrient brand with the least amount of additives and the brand with the pretty bottles don't get sucked in them nutrients are for suckers

I just bought 5l of Canna Boost for $503AUD and that was the cheapest I could find. Only buy it in 5l lots on black friday sales each year. The price is off its head nowadays. Talking to the shop i buy it from it seems to be a seaweed extract with other ingredients. Was told yates thrive and sumo are the closest to it. Sumo seems to cost even more than Boost but lasts a lot longer so I've been told. Haven't tried yates Thrive yet, I hate trying new things especially when I already have a good system going but the cost for it is a bad joke.

Yeah it's highway robbery. I might try that green planet massive.i used bio diesel for a while which was alright but I think I'm getting better results with the boost accelerator. I don't think I'm ready to experiment with thrive yet.

plant extracts, sugars, micro-nutrients, vitamins, amino acids and particularly oligosaccharins

Ogliosaccharides = Chitosan-Crab Meal

Sugars=Unsulfured Blackstrap Molasses

Plant Extracts-I would go with Kelp Tea.
Plant extracts are prepared by maceration or percolation of fresh green plants or dried powdered plant material in water and/or organic solvents.

Kelp, is a green plant, contains 70+ Micro Trace Elements, and Growth Hormone.

Most Soil Based Organic Medium, dont need Amino Acids. Chemical grown, can benefit.

Kelp, is also loaded with Vitamins.
