Yea I have arthritis on top of other stuff i kwim.

I brought a microscope just for that job

I try check them on the plant as best I can but when I think there ready I use the microscope

You can use it free hand if you haven’t shakey hands but I’d like you & me you have you just take a small bud off and put it under the scope.

You can buy them on Amazon for about £30 they don’t come with a good stand. The stand in the pic I brought separately. They work with the phone so check your phones compatible.

Comment on shaky hands . Talk to your neuro doctor about getting onto a BETA BLOCKER. something like a 25 mg Metoprolol
I take it . Helps a lot with shaky hands . Again if your blood pressure is low you cant take it . If your a bit elevated it will greatly improve your hands .

Get you a tripod that holds your phone. You can always zoom in.

Bit late to the Game, but for others that are curious a tripod for sure is the best Choice but if you wanna go budget you can either use a zip bag and fill it with beans/corn and use that as a tripod alternative or tighten some rope onto the Camera (quick release is pref. and often as and D ring), make it a loop and and build tension with your feet ie step into the Loop.
If your going for a Small scale Tripod i would recommend those with flexible rubbery feet, not those with circle elements clipped together.
