Hey everyone. This is my 1st winter with my rainwater collector. It's getting cold here, and it won't be long until everything freezes. I'd like to collect and store as much as I can into my 5gal, and 1gal jugs to use for my plants since my tap water is 200+ ppm, and close to a ph of 8.
The room temp where the water would be stored is around 63-66f. What would be a good way to preserve the water for use? Air stones? Couple drops of bleach per gallon to keep sterile? I'd likely only be able to store enough for 1-2 months max depending on the stages of individual plants.
I also thought about running my 35gal dwc system that I'm not growing with at the moment. Just having the water in there with the pump and air stones.
