Whats the absolute youngest you would top a plant?

I'd say the title pretty much explains my question:stonedsmilie:, I want bonzai my mother plants. When should i top them first? and any guides or links about bonzaing maryjane plants would be very helpful:rauch08:

When i grow a mother Ill top it when there is 4 nodes left, then every time you can leave 2 nodes per branch. So 4 branchs grow then top each one then you have 8, 16 ect. until you want to grow them long enough for clones, when you clone leave atleast 1 or 2 nodes if you want more clones next time. I hope that makes sense, lol

Pberry pretty much summed it up! Here's a pic, you can keep them pretty small. Thats a 5 gal container it's in.

yeah i rock till the 4th node on the main stock then top them as well :)
