Why does it smell and taste like this?

Hey guys so i just got me a pack and I have this sweet candy smell when I light one up can anybody tell me what it can be? I'm not a fan my other guys stuff has always had this smell and taste but not this guy i just got it from till today does anyone know what it can be? Can it be the bud candy flower nutes? I don't know what that stuff smells like. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I think its gotta be something they are adding because its 2 different strains different growers but the same nasty sweet smell I fukin hate I dont taste the actual plant flavor. Maybe it's not flushed properly if somebody can please let me know what not to use to get that flavor I'd really appreciate it the nugs look right it's just that aroma it has no bueno thank u.

hard to say,even more reason for you to grow the herb,this i know for a fact,when i travel and take some with me when i come out of flat land and go to colorado to visit,my herb taste way difrent,crazy right ,if they were using stuff to enhance the flavor maybe they didnt flush right all i can come up with

Thanks oldskol im gonna ask them what they use for flowering maybe that will get my answer I just cant stand the taste and smell and not to mention I have a pack to go through... I have started growing my own just wanting them to get a lil better since the last time I posted them I was having some issues (no ph meter) my girls started looking ugly nobody wants to look at ugly girls! But they are starting to look ok again I'll post them in a bit

Some stuff with distinct smell, Bud Candy (cant really remember the smell), BloomBastic (has a strong candy flavor), Terpanator (smells like apricots), and I am sure there is a laundry list of other additives. It would really be impossible to guess why dont you ask them if you are in contact with the growers? Or at least register your complaint.

Another thing is they will sometimes add fruit, terps or even Ejuice flavoring into dried buds (usually letting it evaporate in the same container so its not too intense) to give it more weight/ better smell but its rare with true quality.

I use molasses occasionally and numerous other fertilizers and I get that smell/taste. Could be the strain is my answer.Or you could ask the grower.They dont let you test it before buying.

I dont test it till I get home it's usually always on point from this guy I'm not sure what happened I think i have a good eye and nose for that my patients dont complain even with this strain they they like the smoke I'm the one who doesn't like it!! I cant register a complaint in the streets bro hes gonna tell me (fuck off go somewhere else)

Yes I err I mean they are some shady mfers lol but really you havent heard of using fruit to bring flavor, smell and moisture back to dried out hay smelling flower? Really nothing shady about that as it helps the smell and the gives it some moisture back. Adding terpenes to the fruit is a step better because it usually (depending on what terpenes you use) prevents any type of mold growing on the fruit which can also end up growing on the buds if it gets too wet, but something like limonine which is anti fungal/microbial puts a stop to that at least for a few more days than usual.

Ccompared to spraying the buds with butane before selling them, this is like a Christians play lol so I dont really consider it shady.

Plus consider this you get a pound of some super dry hay smelling weed for a 1000, I'm talking dryer than your gfs vj...u could in theory add about an ounce of moisture to get it back to a fresh moisture level and if you use terps and fruit it will give it a much better taste and smell as well (although it's obviously not as nice as something like perfectly grown and cured organic) but you will have acceptable flower that started out as totally unacceptable, so it's really not all that shady imo.


Trying to add ejuice flavorings though the buds actually absorb some of the propaline glycol carrier and start cracking like crazy so it's best to stick with fruit/terpenes for flavoring/rehydrating...

Yeah why as much as I hate to say it, you cant trust mfers who are growing some salty ass weed...
1. They are growing for money instead of quality so will most likely not hesitate to use harsher pesticides and "preventives" than any organic grower.

2. They will go to extremes to get yield or flavor results, not really carrying about putting in hard work for true quality.

3. Salty weed is nasty and even though the average dispensary flower looks alot better than it did 10 years ago, I seriously get a sore throat/ stomach problems / respiratory problems half the time I smoke a decent amount, not to mention it doesnt taste nearly as good as even stuff I grew that tastes a little off.

But I see we are kind of going into a quality organic renaissance were people are demanding true good tasting organic quality and these giant dispensary corporations are eventually going to have to fall in line. I just dont really see it in large scale operations as they are always going to have to hose pesticides on those football field sized grows there is really no way around it, besides going back to a caregiver model which the people with the money will pretty much never allow but eventually their flower will be unsellable as more and more smaller growers are focusing on true quality and going organic.

Why I am somewhat happy my felonies prevented me from getting into the commercial game until now I have been able to properly developed my methods to be in the 95-99% taste/smell/quality percentile for flower being sold in colorado.
