Winter strain selection and rehab corner

Hey there! So I got some clones to keep me occupied as the winter comes through and sure why not throw up a grow diary to share with you good folk here on the farm to see how I manage and maybe pick some brains too along the way :)

The ladies:
First two strains were bred by the guy I got them off, Smart genetics and were well established in sponge cubes when I got em
3x super Smart 420, Super lemon haze x critical kush
2x TPxSP, Tropical punch x sour poison
2x Mango sapphire, humboldt

Then 'cos i like a challenge now and then, in the rehab corner I have:

2 x Alien guerilla, zkittzy gorilla x alien technology.
These are short core cuts I saw looking all wonky with pretty bad twisting wrinkly leaves cast off to the side and couldn't leave them all alone.... one has a nice lil 4 top coming up the other is all stacked up, I'm not sure why they're like that, just put these in small pots with soil for now gonna veg em out a couple weeks an see what happens I might not flower these two with the rest.

Last but not least 2 x mystery cuts from last grow, could be GG4, King Kong or Channel +, no idea yet,
These two were in small cups of soil and melted in the sun for a few hours after I put them in a window and forgot as the sun came around the house, only two stood back up, they got some water and were forgot about again for 5 or so weeks while I was away :) they were dry as Ghandis flip flop and had started to flower but still hanging in, a bit of soil water and 24/7 light they started single leaves and trained out a bit so now they will get the love they deserved, I've no idea if they will be good or not after all that but we will see.
The setup particulars:
I have a 4x4x6 tent fixed inside a sealed insulated box thats a bit bigger with the tent door always open, This is to deal Temps that get -°C regularly outside here in winter and no insulation in the roof.
600w lumatec super lumen switchable ballast with adjustowing, 6in extractor , couple fans, humidifier. No need for a/c just using air from outside the box. The extractor, heater and humidifier are all on inkbird controllers.

Plants are in soil in 14L and 11L pots for 8 days and were topped last night.
Soil mix: Bio buzz soil, with extra worm casings, bat guano,perlite, mychorriaze, rhizotonic.

Feed + additional bits
Plagron grow 3-1-3 + bloom 2-2-4
Atami bloombastic pk 14-15
Couple of different Effective Micro organisms for soil and foliar spray from multikraft.
Water out of the tap is ph 7ish and 40 ppm, all water and feed will be checked and adjusted before going in I'm going to push the feed a bit more on the flip this time.

Feeding last night: mix per 10L
Grow @ 15ml
Effective microorganisms @ 20ml
Microbial soil additive @10ml
Silica @ 0.1

8 days since the initial watering in the pots and first feed @ less than half dose.
Water was at P/H 7.2 40 PPM and @ 165 PPM P/H @ 6.2. After the mix.

So after a feed last night the ladies got some topping,cropping tying down and up and around. I broke another top off one of the tropical so they both got a fairly hefty topping, both of those are very mature cuts and don't seem to like the bending that much. Other than those they seem to be ok with the lst.

Stood back up a few hours later at lights off.

The two alien geurrilla are doing ok, the leaves have mostly untwisted now but still with some like dimples between veins. So we will see how they go... they got tidied up a bit too, I will likely take all the lowers as cuts and just veg on out the 4 tops on this the other one was a mess underneath.

Next up is make a box for the cuts i take to survive in and more training.

Two weeks in pot update:
Lights on temp 25c/77f
Lights off temp 21c/60f
R/H 45-55

The plants are coming along nicely now, i switched the ballast to from the 400 to 600w a few days ago and they loved it.I have mostly just been moving branches and Lsting them to level out the canopy as best I can and reign in the lanky ladies and lift up some of the lowers into the light that will be lollipoped and taken for clones.
One or two more branches got topped too. Il probably top the rest again over the weekend and put on the individual scrog cages after a couple days

The rehab corner still surviving!! A bit of stretch coming on finally on the two stacked wonky alien geurrilla and the new growth looks much healthier than the old foliage and a couple roots peeking out the small pots now too. One of the meltys with her hands up there in front.

I also whacked together a box to keep the cuts nice and cosy in and for my supplies too thanks for looking

So a bit of an update so far 25 days in the pots. Seen a couple aphids in the trays after watering and one or two fliers,so been keeling a close eye

Temps 24c and 60% r/h. They got flipped 12/12 couple days ago, last feed was at 650ppm @ 6 p/h,

I will give em another half dose of veg and flower nutes, then into flower nutes, also took some cuttings while doing a defoiliation to open the jungle il a bit too

Rehab corner is in full re veg again throwing 5's and lots of bud sites, still quite stumpy

So the jungle has grown a little bit now, with a decent stretch, more so on some. There is one 420 plant that is a couple of days behind on watering and seems a little stunted compared to the others, iv had a few aphids pop from the soil on that one and another too been catching a few on sticky traps I gave them a treatment of a homemade mix of garlic oil and insecticidal soap,
What would you people of the farm use??

They got 800 ppm @ 6.3 ph for the last feed and I have been gradually backing off the veg nutes, as the last run I stopped the veg a tad early and the all flushed light green throughout.

I had to reshuffle the ladies in the tent and give a slight defoiliation to fit them as the 420s are a bit taller than the rest but they are mostly coming along nice now.

So 10 days since flip and 32 days in the pots, the ladies are starting to turn now getting some hairs showing, I have been trying to keep my VPD in range too, I think they are appreciate it!

The piece of wood on the back wall it about 3 1/2 ft off the floor hopefully they wont stretch too much more or il run outta space!!!

Iv also finally started seeing some roots come out of the eazy cube 2 weeks later

So the ladies have officially bust out of the 4x4 tent space, I may have let them veg a bit too long for how old the cuts were. Topping them for the height did me no favours in the bushy department so i cut the door open permanently and screwed it away to give me some extra inches. The tent was old and pretty holy anyway, so moved the fans about and the air intake and my little lung outside the tent with all the controls is grow space now too, its about 4x6 of 9 plants. I think I'm probably stretching the light a bit there? Any thoughts on that farmers do I need more light on them??

I'm also dealing with some aphids and gnats in the soil catching some on the traps in the soil but not much up to or that I can see on the plants
i have been treating with a couple of sprays, one is a foliar gnat spray and the other is a garlic coriander and tomato leaf oil I made to go around pots and top of soil, seems to be holding them. and I have azamax/permethrin on the way to dose the soil.

The two stumpy survivor melt/veg/flower/veg/flower from the last run these two are on the outside with the worst light coverage up on a crate to try get as much light as possible

I also fixed up the house for the two alien guerilla that were wrinkled up they are looking nice now after some soil and straight water then some light feeding and vegging topping / LST and I have the cuts I took there too all under a couple small t5 and a cfl 50w total

So I pulled all the cuts out last night to check the rooting and 28 of the 48 rooted in various degrees from lots of big fluffy roots to just some lil bits poking through, the box is at 23c and 70% r/h with the lights on 24/7

I left those only poking a bit and potted the rest in canna terra professional soil in small pots, a couple wer looking a bit limp so were covered in bottles overnight, they survived the night
Some were a little green about the gills so hopefully a lil feed they will perk up

I will probably slowly veg these in the box and throw them in the flower tent and scrog them with a real short veg under the big light, when that's clear

Feeds for these ladies are at 800 ppm now coming along nicely now

The ladies are coming along nicely starting to fill up a lil and can see some frost forming, and a faint smell coming through though they are a bit squashed in the room now to try stay in the light I had to pull em out a bit more, and did a bit of defoiliation and cutting out the lower popcorn

I can just about fit 5 in the original 4x4 tent space with one being the small stumpy rescue squished in between . And the others outside the 4x4 footprint and they aren't getting much good light at the moment, I did lift em up to try catch some more for now but I realised I need more light.

So I ended up buying a kingbrite quantum v2 qb288 board 240w 3500k, to stick on the outside to supplement the hps and hopefully give the outsiders a boost, should be here early next week

The nursery is trucking along now too most of the cuts seem to be surviving in the pots apart from one tropical punch x sour punch who hasn't recovered at all, she was an accidental broken top and seemed reluctant to root anyway, they all got the same treatment with just a lil foilar feed. I rigged up a rail to mount the lights on an old shoe rack and some cable ties so I could move em closer n keep my temp good.

Update day 25 flower.
25c 55% r/h
Feed 800ppm
Plenty of action going on in the box now, over the last week they got a couple of pest treatments sprays and one flush with azadirachtin, seems to have done the job so far, only seen one or two flyers after, I'm still waiting for my light to clear customs supposed to arrive today, there is a lovely fruity sweet smell coming from the tropical x sour punch.

In the veg box all are flying along had one of the alien guerilla turn a bit light green and droopy after they got very dry on the cycle so they got a light feed of about 200 ppm and perked back up

I think iv decided what to do with these, I'm top em all out in here n veg til this run is done and then scrog them all in the tent on a quick turnaround when this one is finished.

So I got the kingbrite qb288 in the door and set up as a back up for the hps, there is a savage amount of light off it, not bad for 130 blips. Although iv never even seen an led set up in the flesh lol, hopefully that'll give the outsiders a kick up the arse.

So all but two of the 48 cuts I took rooted, gonna see if I can keep 25 vegging and top n LST em til the current flower is done. And throw em in. The tropical punch x sour punch (row on right) are absolutely flying up so they all got topped last night. I had to get a hot cable to up the temp around the pots as they are taking forever to dry out

These are all the cuts left that'll probably be thrown out if nobody here that I know grows wants them, tis winter so they cant be thrown up on the hill, bit of a pity to throw away 100 yoyo worth of rooted cuts but not much else I can do with them,

One of the alien gorilla is looking a bit light green at the mo the soil must be empty so il have to up the feed I think but aside from that all is going well in the attic.

Bud update day 31 frosty coming in nicely now, no change on the grow particulars just alternating feeds and watering. Getting around 4L @ 900ppm of feed @ p/h 6. The kingbrite qb288 is doing the job of backup well there is a great amount of light off it. And the two under it are now frosting up good

Two of the same but completely different, the one on the right took a hit at the start and is way behind the rest.

In the veg box the tropical/sour punch are super strong and flying up so I super cropped all the ones that were getting too tall compared to the rest, if been fighting with two or three in here yellowing a bit they needing extra love. They getting 200 ppm veg feed here. And a foilar in between.

Couple days later

Broke a mango sapphire almost completely through but taped it to see if it survived and it hasn't wilted yet!

Coming up on the end of week 5 of flowering, only difference now is iv been adding bloombastic p/k 14/15 to the mix, 0.5ml/L to start, plenty of stonks and sticky coming into the space here is a lil vid I took today just after lights out.

I had to change up my cooling and electric setup, moved the air inlet and changed the metal pipe that was condensing lots of water that was dripping down close to some of the electrics and onto and under the floor...so I moved most of my electrics out of the room, and changed up where the pipe comes in to hit the fan, it's now a plastic duct pipe from my ac that I dont need to run in winter, the extractor and fan are on the inkbird and when the come on it draws cool air in and onto the fan. This also gave me some extra room to spread out as the fan is right away from the canopy in that corner.

The veg box is mostly flying now got a couple of wonky ones that are looking a lil shook but coming along, I topped off 24 tops off one of the alien guerilla and left the other wit just 7 tops, all the smaller ones have now been topped and cropped

I also built a proper veg house for the 20 of the 50 cuts i kept and the two alien guerilla. The last one wasn't up to scratch, it wasn't sealed up and i couldn't keep my temp n humidity steady. So I whipped this insulated 140x70x110cm box up with an extractor,heater and fan. Theres 75w t5 and a 20w 4000k led to keep them moving a bit.
