My Bruce Banner grow is going to be finishing up soon (~3-4 weeks) so I figured that I would get a jump start on my next grow.

For this grow I'll be doing two of NukeHeads Banana Milk Photo Fems.

Genetics: Banana OG x Purple Punch F2

Today (10/31/21) is day three of germination:

They have both sprouted roots so into cups they went:

The soil consists of Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss, Horticultural Perlite, Dolomitic Limestone and Calcitic Limestone.

They will be grown under a MaxsiSun MF2000 LED and transplanted to 3gal fabric pots with the same soil after harvesting the Bruce Banner or earlier if needed and supplemented with a 390w Blurple LED light until I can clear the tent.

Here's to another new beginning!

Day one of grow (11/2/21)

The seeds have sprouted above ground. I always consider this day one of my grows.

I had the cups sitting in Ziploc bags until today to help retain moisture. I pulled the cups out of the bags just now and put em in some light under my Banner lady.

The light is too high right now but that's fine as they are still in direct light at a young age. They can stretch a bit if they want. Current temp is sitting at 76°F with an RH of 48%.

I'll be bringing some Banana Milk at a later date, who's going to bring the 🍪 to go with it?!

Sweet... imo genetics and spectrum are the big contributions to stretch. Intensity only an issue for that if it's very low.

The more blue leaning the less stretch.

Also keep day and night temps the same may reduce it a bit. I found a negative diff of 2f warmer at night than day to really reduce stretch at any point in the grow. But does come at a very small cost of overall growth. Still handy trick when you run into a strain that stretches so much at flip your gonna run outa room.

It's really kinda handy to have some tricks up the sleeve to manipulate growth as needed

Day 4 (11/4/21):

The plants are getting stretchy. I put a box in my tent to set them up on so they are a little closer to the light.

Current temp: 76°F
RH: 48%
Lighting: 18/6

I haven't watered them since my last watering and the soil is still damp so maybe I'll see what it's like tomorrow. I'll just be providing only water until at least week 2 is over.

These guys are already taller than my Bruce Banner was at week 2 or 3...Lol. It's always interesting seeing the differences between strains.

I’ve got some chocolate mimosa, sounds like good cookies to me!

Had to move the seedlings into the closet under a blurple for now. My Bruce Banner isn't allowing them enough light anymore.

Day 30 Update (11/30/21):

The plants have been in my main grow tent under the MaxisSun light for a couple weeks now. The light is at 100% and approximately 24" above the plants on a schedule of 18/6.

We'll call this girl (Lefty)
IMG 20211130 072911

And this girl (Righty)
IMG 20211130 072901

Today was watering and feeding day. They both received 1 full gallon of water each with the following nutes:

60ml/gal of Big Bloom
15ml/gal Grow Big
5ml/gal of CalMag

You'll notice "Lefty' has some deformities going on. She's been this way since the first true leaves appeared. She's still growing though so I'm going to let her do her thing for now.

I started a little LST on "Righty" today as well. I simply pulled the top almost all the way to the ground. This is exactly how I did it with my Banner too and got great results from this one primary bend and then some off ties to open up her center more as she grew.

That's it for now. I'll probably be throwing em into 12/12 in the next week or two though.

Day 34 (12/4/21):

IMG 20211204 062435

I did some light defoliation on Lefty and Righty. Righty is definitely still doing better and Lefty is still producing her strange looking leaves but looking healthy aside from that. Not much new in the past few days aside from that and new growth.
