Help Needed: Planted on 11th Feb and plants looking small, yellowing and dry leaf tips. Have been watering lightly. This is a soil and coco mix. Using a Mars hydro 300 Watts 24” away on 30% power. Have not added any nutrients yet whatsoever.

Watered lightly 2 days ago, soil dry. Any advice on what to do to help the plants, maybe watering wise? I am aware that this could be a nitrogen deficiency but need some confirmation and advice on what to do next.

I would check your pH and then give them some nutrients, mostly of the N type for now. You also are going to need something for calcium. Your soil may have enough magnesium but you are going to need to supplement calcium for sure. You need to keep that soil moist imo. Too dry and start bringing the power up as well. 90 watts isn't enough in my opinion. I would think 50% is fine or drop it down to 18"

Just to clarify - I’ve been watering the plants roughly every 2-3 days with half a litre of water but the surface of the soil is kinda dry atm. So I might be over watering? Not sure at this point…

If an inch to an inch and a half below the soil top is damp, then it's perfect and doesn't need water until this area is more dry. If you can stick your finger in the dirt and it comes out with debris on it, it's likely saturated enough for now.

Wow. I wish newbies would stop discovering symptoms I've never seen before.

Get a green marker and darken the margins of those leaves. It won't help anything, but it will make me feel better.

Approximately 50/50 coco & regular full nutrient soil. They’re looking so dry though. Haven’t watered in some time cause suspecting it may be over watering rather than under, even though they look like they wilting

Have you picked up the container to see how heavy it is?

Just don’t water, see if it gets worse, if it does you know it’s from underwatering
And obviously the other way around
