Youtube grow vids a NO NO - Please read!

I dont grow at my house or keep bud here exept a few g's for me to smoke and i use sum1 elses net to upload vids. So its all cool for me but for those who do grow at home and have stuff you dont want the feds to find never post on youtube.

That's how you truly do it. Use somebody else's connection.

Oh and pay logic a 100 per year for higher file limits here on the farm if you need a shitload of space, problem solved. :smoke

I couldn't agree more. I noticed someone mentioned IP address. I am sure most folks here know that you can hide your real IP from prying eyes. Only $10/month. I can forward the website to whomever is interested.

Posting grows on youtube is a bad move.. But I haven't recently been posting any images of my grow on any forums.. It comes down to, whether its worth it or not. I have a lot going on, and a lot to lose.. I will be putting up a few threads here and there with certain grows, but I dont need to prove myself to anyone.. I have really cut down on the number of pics I upload.

Maybe once my current grows have ran their course, I will put up a huge thread with pics of all of my strains from start to finish.

Growing up in Texas, when seeds and stems got you a sentence up to life in prison putting up traceable photos of illegal activity is just dumb. I'm paranoid just logging on to this and other seed and hobby sites. Now that U.S. has a socialist prez. that wants to control your life, death and everything inbetween it will get worse. I know that sometimes even I forget its illegal, its just a plant, but you have to be smart to enjoy our lifestyle. Peace, love, and happiness just pisses off the powers that be. Be cool!

On a similar note, regular old JPG images can have a lot of hidden data in them that you might not want to have floating around. Think dates, camera make and model, even GPS info on some phone cameras! There is free software called jhead that allows the removal of JPG header info. To make things easiest, make a folder right under the c:\ drive - let's say c:\jpg - and put the jpgs you want to strip headers out of, along with jhead.exe (downloaded from the link above). Go to Start->Run and type "cmd", then click ok. This will bring up a command prompt. At the command prompt, type "cd c:\jpg" (minus the quotes of course), then "jhead -purejpg *.jpg" (again excluding the quotes). It should say something like "image.jpg modified" for each image in the directory to let you know the headers have been stripped. Stay safe!

I couple of programs I use are Tor and simplednsPlus. I did not see them mentioned anywhere in this forum but if they are please delete this post.

Tor can be found at . What it basically does is use a random number of other computers on the internet as proxy servers for your request. What this does is make your ip address look like it is coming from one of the other computers, not yours. When I have it running i can go to my home page for yahoo and most the time it will be in a whole other language because it thinks I am in europe or asia. I do not use it for regular browsing on the net because it is really really slow! But I do use it when hitting sites that I do not want my ip tracked.

SimplednsPlus can be found at http://www.simpledns.com/default.aspx. It is a dns server you run on your own machine. That way your machine doesn't use your isp's dns for anything.

Here's a quick tip when using TOR -- Download the *portable* version of TOR -- it requires zero install and leaves zero traces of it on your computer since there's no installer or log files. You can put it on a USB memory keychain and use it anywhere.

Additionally, everyone here would be wise to invest in "TrueCrypt" which is a free encryption software. (www.truecrypt.org). It's an encryption method for your hard drive that would keep data secure unless they have the pre-boot password. It makes a restore disk too in case of an operating system failure you can still get to the data just fine.

Both, of course, are free to use.

TOR is a little slow though, but for just YouTube vid posts it should be plenty fine.

i dont get it? the only way the guys "local rag" could have known about it is if he actually posted his location. a reporter cant go to youtube and say "gimme that ip". you have to have a warrant to obtain an ip from them. reporters cant get warrants issued! you can post anything you want on youtube if you dont give out where you are. you can even make them private and only post the links on your own threads. you can even change the "location' of the video to show it is located somewhere else. if your stupid and tell people where you are yeah you will get busted. but with the available options you can put just about anything you want on youtube.

Quit acting like you have done something wrong when it comes to the plant we love, if we stop hiding it and everyone puts their foot down and says "fuck off feds" then there isnt a whole lot they can do.License or not we all deserve personal freedoms, like one user pointed out its like the issues gays had.. the gov/fed is trying to "scare us back into the closet"

Different story if you have big time money coming into your operations (governments like free money), if you're a small time grower looking to help people out and get by, I really wouldn't be too worried about who's watching you shower.

Yeah exactly, All I plan on doing is growing bomb for myself and close friends, just to make an extra 20k a year or so, maybe a bit more and my friends wont even know who grew it.
