I move to Va 3 years ago. I can finally grow my own. Follows is a photo journal of these years.
First year one. My house was built in 1780. As far as I know it is the oldest wood farmhouse still standing and privately owned. 80 acres, half woods, half pasture.
I tried autos, indoors and out, and four large outdoor plants. One was lost to caterpillars, buds are their perfect home. They get stoned, eat only the best buds, and have protection from birds. How much better can you get. Despite losing one I ended up with 6 pounds. My best was Bruce Banner and she was awesome.
Autos were okay, but I find the quality of photoperiod plants to be better. By using veg and seperate flower tents I can easily get a crop done every 90 days, so I quit auto.
Wind damage, caterpillars, and having to harvest early due to freeze were my biggest problem. Outdoor pots are open bottom, 200 gallon, metal. I put to close to my barn and too close together. Thus ends 2022.

2023. In fixing problems from the previous year I screwed myself and destroyed three outdoor plants. One was a bit funny. Wind caught it just right, about 60mph wind, so it spun so fast it sheared plant from roots just below ground level. It was held upright by netting and looked normal, then of course it quickly died. Two others got destroyed when cages used to protect them got bent over by wind destroying the plants. Only Trainwreck survived and is awesome. I still have about 7 gallons of cured but not completely trimmed product.
All worked out fine, thanks to indoor grows. Photos follow. I didn't take end of season. Hated to show only one outdoor survivor I guess. Completed my 1st indoor hydroponic grow. Made mistakes in trimming and canopy. Still got almost a pound of LA Confidental and she's really good. My wife's dog is in there. He likes me the best, but I pretend he's hers.
2024 next.

Are you on the supplemental O2? I was in that business for 25 years! Got four or five concentrators out in the barn! They work pretty good for Bubbling teas!

Last and ongoing. Changes made. Switched to clones only indoors. Made my own from regular seeds for White Widow XTRM and Bruce Banner, then grew out the original plants. Outdoors I ditched the cages. I've staked the plant and will use horizonally place netting for support as they grow. I'll keep trimmed much more severely as well. But here's what I have so far.
