from kens own site
this is the grand daddy purp
There’s only one original and unequivocally… this is it! There are lots of imitators out there today, but this propriety “Royal Indica” strain whose puffy buds are unusually dense, magnificent in their unreal color scheme, their unmistakable smell, awesome taste and unbelievable potency are what make it, straight up uniquely… the “Real Deal!

this is kens gdp

Ken’s Grand Daddy is a champagne strain that’s defiantly “quality without compromise” making it a great way to start the day off or end the day, right. Our proprietary sativa is like no other, and it’s just what the doctor ordered! You won’t find very many medical marijuana strains that taste like they smell, but be assured… this is one of them!

Deliciously sticky, with a rich, smooth hash taste that’s healthy and well balanced, our Grandaddy is a hardy plant with tight internodes and dense dark green to purple leaves that gain their royal purple hues as they mature.

The strain flaunts large crystal-covered buds that are dense green nuggets that are considered to be among the most beautiful and effective available… anywhere. Both potent and pungent with a sweet aftertaste, many generations have been produced and evolved to achieve this truly unique strain.

Our Ken’s Grand Daddy’s medicinal properties are extremely focused and definite, while evoking complete mental relaxation. It produces no hangover or ill effects and is great for chatting, laughing, physical activity, appetite stimulation then sleeping like a baby.

he has a blue dream/gdp cross on his site. wouldnt suprise me at all is thats what this is

gdp as the sativa winner.....

just sad......

sad for the judges that cant distinguish a sativa from an indica...

sad for the person that would enter gdp as a sativa...

and sad for high times for allowing gdp to be entered as a sativa....

snowblind,
you sure about the list? What was your source? It just seems odd that the Ken's GDP is listed as sativa. I looked on the web for any other reports on the winners, but no luck anywhere.

Ken made the weed and he was at the event. GrandDaddy Purple is Indica, "Ken's GrandDaddy Purple" is Sativa driven.

In fact you can join his forum and ask him about the make up of the weed. I might just do that myself.

I would have asked him the make-up of the plants at the cup, however, I wasnt thinking about that at the event. They had some awesome buds at their booth I was staring at. He's a legend and he was there both days! Awesome for someone with his disabilities.

Sorry, just checked out ken's site. I wasn't seeing the distinction between the "kens granddaddy" and the "grandaddy purp". My bad. The seeds that I bought were purp. Hats off to ken. The Ken's granddaddy is delicious and had a NICE soaring with body high. I only saw the "purp" seeds there and his kush. I bought that one too. Now I see that I have to get the ken's now for sure.

if its gd, and not gdp i retract my statement due to wrong info...

heres kens breakdown:

Grand Daddy Purp

Grand Daddy Purp medical marijuana -* There’s only one original and unequivocally… this is it!* There are lots of imitators out there today, but this propriety “Royal Indica” strain whose puffy buds are unusually dense, magnificent in their unreal color scheme, their unmistakable smell, awesome taste and unbelievable potency are what make it, straight up uniquely… the “Real Deal!
Ours, hands down is the most highly recommended and requested strain 6 to 1 in medical collectives today. If you have ever had our “original” GDP before you’ll immediately recognize these face, body and brain melting traits. Certainly if the color purple had a taste and smell this strain would be it.
The buds are very deep purple almost all the way through out, except for the occasional light neon green spot. With almost zero hairs on them, the crystal formations are outstanding, looking a lot like they were dipped and rolled in sparkling stardust!
Grand Daddy Purp’s superior medicinal properties are undeniably responsible for appetite stimulation, joint pain relief, insomnia, nausea, and migraines. Known as The Nighttime Strain due to the great results credited to it by patients suffering from an array of sleep disorders. So all aboard for a great pain-free nights sleep.

Ken’s Grand Daddy

Bodhi,

I edited the results to match the High Times webpage. The name of the winning sativa was kind of confusing, but it looks like to me its Bay 11 from GrandDaddy Purple the collective. I hope this makes sense. I will make updates as needed and sorry for any confusion.

Ken's original GDP is an indica. He won with his new proprietary sativa
strain called Bay 11, which I hear is a genetic cross of GDP and other
strains of Ken's.

In 2007 Steve was involved the creation and development of Steep Hill Labs, California’s premier medical cannabis analysis laboratory for safety screening and quality assurance.

anybody else think its kinda not fair that steep hill did the testing?
given that harborside won best indica, i think the testing outa be done somewhere else next year

not bashing at all, love what steven d. has done for mmj. just wana keep it fair

cant wait for this to open up amsterdam style

again not bashing at all im sure bogglegum was straight fire

Steve DeAngelo and Elan Hawtrey, General Manager of the San Jose facility, said the collective won for a strain that was developed with the help of San Jose purchasing manager Rachael Szmajda, who led the effort to develop the strain with the grower referred to as Delta 559's Bogglegum.

The results for Delta 559's Bogglegum were18.58% THC and 0.38 % CBD and 0.07% CBN.
