How To Hang A Light????

I have a light I am trying to hang but nothing to tie in to not sure what im going to do

Tent or room?

Ceiling joists if in basement. How I hung 7x big kahuna hoods. If in a tent, don't trust the elcheapo metal poles. Put a 2x4 the length of the room, overhanging the tent by 1' each side. Use that to support the hoods

looking like Im going to have to build like a box around the room and run 2x4 a cross to anker to

tryed bolting into roof and they pull out and made 2 nice holes in it

These will work in drywall.

if it was dry wall yes them would work its like 1/4 paneling

ill get a pic when im done but think im going to run a 2x4 from one wall to the other then run one from the middle of the first 2x4 and run that to the side wall

kind of what im doing but with the studs in the walls

If you use studs on the walls, you may need a center support as well. The top piece may bow down due to the weight
