My goal for this grow is to veg all 5 plants for 1.5 months. I'm calculating the veg time from the day they pop up out of the soil. So 45 days after they sprout I will be switching to 12/12. I will also be topping each plant and using a vivosun scrog screen to maximize my space and yield.

Alright guys and gals. Seeds have popped and today they will go into solo cups filled with happy frog. I was going to use roots organic but decided on happy frog.

I'm liking the first signs of new life! Very nice. Happy Frog is some good stuff. Aside from quality local bought soil I'd like to think Happy Frog and Ocean Forest are some of the best tried and true soil brands around.

Ffof burns my plants. I have 3 gorilla glue going right now and it burned one decently and the other is showing signs too. Its far too hot. Hoping happy frog is different.

Yup I agree with that. Pure FFOF is too much for seedlings and even some teens. Definitely a good idea to start seeds/clones in Happy Frog since it’s lighter in food or diluted FFOF with perlite and earthworm castings. When they get bigger one can pot them up to pure FFOF. It is nice since FFOF really doesn’t need too much extra fertilizer input if timed right with the transplants.

Of course Happy Frog alone is perfectly fine too. Gives a bit more leeway if you feel like adding fertilizer.

I've never had any issues starting my beans in pure FFOF soil. Course my experience with that is 2 different strains. So, wondering if it's strain sensitive.

All 5 have popped up out of the rapid rooters. I think I will for sure be using rapid rooters from now on instead of straight into soil after germination. Just seems to work better. Ffof has stunted 3 of my last ones and caused 2 to not even pop up. Too hot. My method for these was cup of water for 24-48 hours, then into rapid rooters once I see the taproot, and then after they establish in the rapidrooters into solo cups.

I'm not exactly sure how long to keep them in the rapid rooters but I will probably do keep them in there for another 24-48 hours and then toss them into solo cups of happy frog.

I'm for sure topping them soon and begin the lst process soon after they recover.

You can put the rapid rooters in solos anytime but if you see a taproot coming out the side or bottom you’ll know it’s definitely time. Looking good so far.

plant the "cubes in soil now !!!!! and srtat tending them giving then a good root stilmulator - no nutrients yet. just h20 and "love" take care of them babies !!!!!

Now adays I build my own soil. But when I was using bagged soil I would start with happy frog and once they went into new shoes for setting them up to veg a little longer and start flower I would use FFoF for their final shoes. Never had any burn using this method.....

Exactly. It’s really good stuff for being fresh out of the bag. Isn’t building your own soil awesome man. I love being able to just reuse my raised beds soil whenever I need to.

I'm trying to figure out how to raise my RH it's at 28% right now... which seems low

Ended up just spraying walls down and it went up 3% so I'm going to be putting a bowl of water in the tent hoping the evaporation can raise it above 40%

If you’re tent is set up with intake and exhaust then it’s challenging to change the ambient humidity unless you get a humidifier or use techniques like your saucer and spray down.

Although it’s not “perfect” you can still get buy without changing anything as long as the seedlings seem to be healthy IMO. The humidity will increase as the plants get larger too.

I agree with justiceman. It's hard to change the humidity when you have a nice intake and exhaust on your tent. In veg, to help out I also place a large container of water inside and if possible, place it where the intake air blows over the water. Also, I collect rain water, strain that with a Pur water filter, then use it to mist the plants. I do it usually twice a day during veg. and continue into flowering until the buds are set. Like justiceman said, when you get into flowering and your soaking those fabric pots every watering, then the humidity will be 50-70%. It's harder to lower it than raise it then. But, good success is not hard, and I've never had humidity issues. :cool:

The taproots were really long sticking out if the rapid rooters. I had to wait a few extra days to get soil. I hope it wasnt too long and they'll be ok
