Oakton Phtestr Ultrabasic Still Works!

I bought this years ago, must have been at least 8 years. It's been sitting in a box, uncapped and dry for the past 5 years at least. I poured some fresh ph4 and ph7 into clean cups I picked up yesterday for my nutradip. It still seems to be pretty accurate. Is this normal? Figured the probe would have been long gone. Comes within .1 of whatever I'm testing.

Lucky you. After 2 Oakton$ died on me, I decded to buy el cheapo (by comparison) Milwaukee pH pen. It's much easier to calibrate, and still going strong after 3 grows, although the spring loaded on button doesn't want to stay on, but it's < $30 on Azon
