So far all I've done is order the parts and I should have them all by the 18th hopefully. My hope is to use 5x8 of the room to grow 12 large plants. The rest of the space will be used for growing supplies.

Here's the shipping list so far and I wanted to say a big thank you to Schkronis and everyone else who shared their experiences and thoughts with me.

20 x Samsung F564B 22" strips 500.00
4 x HLG-240H-48A 266.00 266.00
4 x electrical connectors
100 x Wagos 221-412, 50 x Wagos 221-413, 25 x Wagos 221-415 51.00
2 x Thermal tape 14.00
1 x 18 gauge black copper 7.00
1 x 18 gauge red copper 7.00
4 x power cords 20.00
20 x 2" x 24" heatsink 150.00

It funny how well a bunch of potheads get together online. You go to most other forums and their at each others throats.

I like it here, originally I only joined to hit up one hvac guy lol. It's my first forum tho & everyone I've talked with is pretty cool. Even if they disagree with your opinion lol. I just like to think there's always something you could be doing better. Having an open mind with the plethora of information from real people here, your ceilings the limit.

Update!

If you try this setup go for the HLG 320h 48b because the 240 really underpowers them. I got that info from over at ledgardener. Now I'll be running 64w per light and a total of 321w per fixture and 1286w for the entire 4 fixtures.

As long as I get everything else right these lights should each produce as good or better then 4 500w hps lights.

Merry Christmas from digikey x 20 strips.

I decided to finally measure my lux with a couple different apps for my android phone. My lights at a distance of about 20 inches are putting out 42,000lux. Am I right or wrong in assuming that is a very good number for a novice indoor grow?

The sun at the earths surface registers between 30,000lux and 100,000lux. Maybe the low end of the range but at least I'm in the sun light range.

Yep, not going great but not the lights fault, RDWC not setup quite yet though. Waiting to see if the plants recover or not.

Hey, been there before. Have you got it figured out?
Should have top feed plants for first few weeks until roots where good and out of net pots but I didn't. Can't really fix it this time but can only hope for recovery.

Water solution is at the very top range of what is acceptable but have a large supply of bubbles to combat root rot. Looking to buy a water cooler since I'll need one for summer anyways.

My return tubes from research and comments are half the size they should be. They're a 1/2" at the moment but will increase to 1" for next run. Not really in to doing big changes like this with plants in the system.

Used a new nutrient solution that needs to be used at full strength but had at 1/4 strength from experiences with General Hydroponics. Switching to Masterblend based on the conversation had on this site with whom appear to be knowledgeable chaps.

There's the list. It's a big one but everything I learn from isn't a waste of time or money. It's all just an experience that will make me a much better gardener in the end.

Good to hear that you've got it figured out. I ran DWC in a big igloo cooler a few years back. Never setup recirculating though. I've seen some amazing grows with it though. I didn't have top drip either, so I would just top water some of the solution 2-3 times a day until the roots hit the solution, then they really take off. Were you running the micro and bloom formula before?

I know myself and the rest of the folks here want to see what those lights can grow, so please keep posting.
