Grow Diary #2.

Strains: monster cropped og kush and white widow. Bought a vegging clone of Purple Trainwreck X Goo
Grow Medium: Coco Coir
Tent size: 3x2.5x7
Nutrients: canna coco a+b then switched to megacrop when I used up the canna.
Lights: DIY Bridgelux EB gen 2 280mm strip LEDs and a quantum board all totaling 240 watts


From my last grow, I took cuts from my plants during flower for clones. I took the cuts and put them into a plastic cup and some water. I put them on my windowsill and in a week or 2 I got my rooted clones! Try not to get the leaves wet otherwise they look as ugly as mine when you plant them however they bounce back very well. If they dont root in 2 weeks, then you can give it some more time to sit. I changed the water frequently almost everyday. I took 12 cuts and rooted them all however I only took the prettier ones. Currently at week 5 of flower. I also met up a clone seller in a parking lot and will be growing Purple Trainwreck X Goo along with the monster crops. Pictures!

Week 5.

Currently feeding megacrop @ 6 grams per gallon and giving calmag every 3 days or so unless they don't look like they need it. My scrog is set up I believe 18" above the coco. I re-vegged my monster crops and the regular clone for 2 weeks before switching to 12/12

So far the biggest problem I've had is building a tent that is smaller than I wanted because I didn't measure twice. I also had too many clones so I had to throw some out. Hope to better improve on scrog training for next season or hopefully sooner. I topped one plant but I stopped after that after realizing I wouldn't have much space for more growth.

Roots need darkness. Next time take that out of the window seal. It will root faster. Really should put it in a root riot or something you need oxygen. A glass loses oxegen

Week 6 Update! They are growing. Feeding MegaCrop 6 grams per gallon.

So I had a plant on my windowsill just to see how it grows. Turns out cloudy wet days will get you PM or it could have been an outdoor plant that had pm and I just didn't notice and brought the spores in myself on my clothes? Farewell windowsill weed, I cannot let you infect my other plants.

I had the plant on the window because I wanted to observe it's growth with sunlight on a south facing window and how healthy it would be.

Also grown in a quart container to observe the effects with coco coir medium. I didn't cover the clear container when I potted this clone to see how that would affect the growth as well.

No fan, no exhaust, south facing window, clear plastic quart container, fed with megacrop 6 grams/gallon. Past week has been wet and cloudy. Maybe I will treat the PM and see how that goes before chopping the plant down.

Week 7! Everything is still growing. Did a final tiny bit of defoliating at the end of week 6. My last grow I took leaves at the 12/12 flip and at week 3 of flower however this time around, due to circumstances and wanting to try different ways, I defoliated at week 3 of flower followed by this last one at week 6.

Week 8, plants are still alive! Slowly but surely bulking up and stacking.

So I think I'm chopping very soon. It's day 64 and this morning I noticed some flour looking stuff on one of my plants on the lower leaves. Got the PM. Doesn't look like it's taken hold but I found it on a few other lower leaves. Stagnant air, overcrowding? and hovering around 60% probably got me to this point. Luckily no signs on other plants. I always check the plants and just noticed this PM.

Should I bud wash everything or just the plants affected by the PM? Need some opinions. It's only showing on one plant in a far corner. Forgot to take pics of the pm because I bagged and tossed the leaves but it hasn't become an epidemic yet.

Finished the harvest and the buds are looking quite nice compared to my first harvest with blurples. These Bridgelux lights delivered the hard dense nugs i waswmissing from my first crop. The powdery mildew is a concern this harvest but I checked every branch and everything that had the PM got the bud wash. I'll be back with a dried weight in a week and a half.

Got more than 9 ounces! Used 240W so I got a little more than a gram per watt. Very Happy. Still need to trim a cookie jar full and weigh it for a final number. I wish I chopped the tops and let the buds at the scrog level to fatten up more. Will do this next time.
