you can use any plant for a mother plant. there is no issue with using a feminized plant for a mother. it really comes down to the stock the seeds come from.

I think it all depends on the breeder most of Ograskal's gear is fem seeds and there are plenty of people who use them for mothers he'll I have 4 white fire going now and 2 hortilabs starbuds witch are fem seeds. I'm actually really starting to like gem seeds but like I said it just depends on what breeder you get them from rite now I have 3 fem crosses from Dr.Greenthumb going fem crosses of fem seeds from Devine genetics fem and a few others like caliconnections pre 98 bubba fem OGR's white fire fem starbud fems if you get your gear from here on the farm and it fem seeds I'd say your good to go I would just keep an eye on them like any other reg seeds to check for hermi flowers any seed can turn hermi Dnt matter if it's reg or fem.

i think you are mistaking keeping it as a mother with the fact that you shouldnt breed with feminized seeds. the next generation of seeds made from fem seeds will show hermie traits

Thank you to all that responded. I though it didnt really make sense either, but i kno for a fact it was stated here at the farm by someone that fems are not good mothers. Well i have a couple mothers from femd seeds(next generations Afghani Kush and dinafems Moby Dick) and i have been takin cuts for about a year now with no problems. I just wanted to get more farmers opinions and i got it.
Thanks Again...i love this site!!!! THC Farmer 4Life

There is nothing wrong with taking clones but its not good breeding material. The idea is to use homozygous material with massive selections only for your true breeding(no growers do this because its too hard). Big problems could "suddenly" spring up in f3 and f4 generations.

I think there is nothing wrong with keeping a mother plant around that came from feminised seeds. One thing i heard is that if your mother plant from fem seeds gets super stressed she could turn hermaphrodite or male and you wouldnt even know until all the cuts you took started to flower out and you noticed male pollen sacs. Thats a possibility for sure. Just keep em happy and you will be just fine

as a few people have said, it's ok to use fem plants as moms. however it has a lot to do with how those fem seeds were made.

but if it the plant and its genetics are stable, then who cares, have a blast with it!

good luck!

Yeah , well there's a *possibility* that about anything could herm out on you. And working with certain landraces I've seen a lot of naturally occurring herms but I've never see what you state you've heard above , I suppose it could happen though.

I have a question that I havent found an answer to. When starting from seed are you suppose to keep the plant that sprouted from the seed as your mother? Or do you flower it and take clones from it and select one of the clones as your mother?

Ive allways kept my mother from seed and flowered clones off her,I do take a back up mom of something special,Ive had one fem mother for allmost 3 years,I have a tahoe S1 thats a year old in the next couple weeks. Its does not matter but I feel like my plants and cuts are heathier from a mom from seed.Just my 2 cents
