Winterizing Problem. Oil Tastes Like Everclear..

im sure i purged my oil properly but it still had an alcohol or an everclear taste to it.. im assuming there should be no alcohol taste or smell

Correct.
Just sit it on a coffee warmer until the large bubbles stop. Then you will see the "tiny bubbles", (CO2).
When they taper off, the oil will be fully de-carbed and well purged.

doesnt sound as if you fully purged the oil.

get a small bit of the oil on a paper clip, needle, or similar and burn the oil.

if the hash oil pops or you see sparks purge it some more.

I made QWISO of buds too dry to smoke with 99% ISOPROPOL and vaped the hash oil in a wax atomizer and always purged the oil till I never smelled or tasted the alcohol.
