Been reading up on the subject recently and found something that should interest everyone here. When it comes to making bubble hash, people tend to only pay attention to the glandular trichomes - also called capitate stalked glandular trichomes. These little babies are the sought after spoils in sugar leaf for making bubble hash. But something many of you MAY NOT KNOW. The capitate sessile trichomes - trichomes that are just a sharp spike like a rose thorn- yield more THC weight:volume than glandular trichomes! This has only recently been discovered as of 2013. Something to think about when throwing away all that leaf and stem…

Done solvent extraction via butane and honey oil. But honey oil smells so different from my weed, less sweet, more dank. Why god dammit WHYYYYYYY????!!!!

Suppose that's why my oral spray doesn’t smell of buds.

You use that too? I’ve stopped. I’ve come across at least two papers showing how THC’s inherent instability makes it quite unsuitable for oral liquids. i.e.. the more processing THC goes through the more it's degraded. Someone already mentioned freeze drying weed that’s harvested early and I agree. One paper describes how even when kept in the dark in the fridge 20% of the THC is gone after 2 weeks. In the light at room temps, 60% is gone. Someone needs to breed weed that makes a stable form of THC.

Might be of interest...

THC is not the only clinically useful and pharmacologically active cannabinoid. Cannabidiol is the second most prevalent active ingredient in cannabis and may produce most of its effects at moderate, mid- range doses. Cannabidiol converts to THC as the plant matures and over time this THC degrades to cannabinol. Up to 40% of the cannabis resin in some strains is cannabidiol. The amount varies according to plant; some varieties of Cannabis sativa have been found to contain no cannabidiol. As cannabidiol may help reduce anxiety symptoms, cannabis strains without cannabidiol may produce more panic or anxiogenic side effects. Cannabidiol may exaggerate some of the effects of THC (including increasing THC-induced euphoria), while attenuating others, and competitively slows THC metabolism in the liver. Consequently, a dose of THC combined with cannabidiol will create more psychoactive metabolites than the same dose of THC alone.

I agree, keep it natural the way nature intended, and keep it frozen. Big pharma will eventually try to monopolize this industry and they dont care if the end user is getting bang for their buck so long as they are making money. They are just greedy companies trying to cash in on our home turf.

Here are the raw facts about THC degradation into CBN or other oxidized breakdown products, with correct storage procedures in place. These figure are based on studies done so authorities can accurately backdate the potency of THC to the time of seizure and use that to fuck over the poor bastard who’s been nicked.

After 1 year 77% remains

After 2 years 66% remains

After 3 years 57% remains

After 4 years 52% remains

That’s better than other figures I’ve come across, but I suppose police are using more sophisticated methods than the old glass jar haha. Anyway, who gives a shit, anyone trying to sell you 4 year old weed will know it’s lost its smell and will have gone brown anyway. THC isn’t the only thing that degrades, the whole bud does.

THC degrades at 3-5% per month from the minute its synthesised on the plant. Photo degradation greatly exacerbates this. Hence the amount of THC that is destroyed while your plants are growing under HID lights is significantly more. There is no way around this, and its a bitch of a fact.

a lot of people dont trust big pharmaceutical companies and i can understand that but they have the money and technology to get this stuff into tablet form or whatever and find a way to make it stable and dose specific. i personally would rather pop as pill that i know has exactly x amount of mg of thc or whatever than take my chances from some unscrupulous dispensary.
