Anyone know of anything anywhere?
Would love to spend the winter taking some online grow / garden or greenhouse classes.

Paid or free - either way is fine by me.

Thanks!

Uplifting Health & Wellness in Natick MA has some, or is linked with some that I'm sure you could find on the net. I don't know how advanced they are. I just know they have them. I know they are paid courses. Like 16 weeks, 2x a week for a total of 5 hours (a week). I remember not being interested because they seemed to have much more of a "college" feel than I wanted. I think I remember thinking it was a fairly big commitment, that they did have more than one option of difficulty, & that it was so cheap that I either misunderstood them (quite possible, the woman's accent is just difficult for me) or it was a scam.

Hope that helps.

I've laughed master gardeners out of the room so many times before...please don't take that accredation seriously, unless you're actually going for a masters in botany or agricultural sciences from a land grant university.

well here in mich its run by the state agri.but its more than just classes, you have to put in 100 hours of volunteer work with plantings in your community so get final certs.but this was back almost 20 years so it may be less or more now and each state could be very different.it was about 300.00 back then also but it included a huge text book with a ton of info and lots of dif lists with phone numbers ect.so you had something to look back on later if needed.i did it after having already been working in a large scale production nursery for 15 years and i still learned a ton from the professor who gave the classes.but she had a helper with her and broke us down into 2 classes, experienced and new students and she had alot of time to answer questions from our group each day.i actually met an old guy in the class that owned a greenhouse and learned almost as much from him as i did the teacher lol.and im still friends with that guy so ya never know what you might get out of the course.gl

thanks gents. I will do some checking on these and update this link if I find any thing worth taking.
I use Master Gardener term loosely of course. I really want a greenhouse/ plant nutrition class, but they are usually hidden in the AG or the Horticulture section of coursework.

A problem with some of online education is its all focused on a NUTE line. Not what I want, helpful for many reasons, but I want to know the basics of what a plant needs to live, thrive and how to combat bugs, pests, molds, etc..

All I am finding for this is medical clinics. Do you have a better name or link I could check out?

here is a list of some, there is more, but this is a start.
this first one is free... hope this helps

The first one actually looks pretty good, you can piece meal each section and skip the ones you don't want, they cost about $17 each and they have about 30 it looks like.

I might buy one section and check it out.

well if you want to learn about our plants specificlly i would def watch both the videos from this guy.super smart dude and goes into detail here.someone else posted these here a while back.i sat through both and saved them.might even be more stuff online from harley smith.enjoy

I am gonna randomly pick one of the places and try their program. Most run $50-100 per month to join their site. Not bad at all.

Thank you! I used to be impressed by that designation, until I learned what they actually *know*. Now I just laugh when it's trotted out like a fine pony.

So I narrowed this list down to the relevant ones for me, as a grower.
For anyone else considering classes, stay tuned over the next few months. I will try some of these and report back.

http://thcuniversity.org/
-Offers certifications, Jorge Cervantes endorsed.
Costs $29 / monthly standard, $89 month professional

https://cannabistraininguniversity.com/
-This one looks more geared to someone getting a certificate for getting a job at a store, etc.

http://www.greencultured.co/
- Their site appears down, but I was able to get on it before, so will come back to it.

http://oaksterdamuniversity.com/
- For the serious grower. Classes seem legit and are priced $600-$1300-

http://www.thegrowschool.org/live-online-classes/
- Self Paced Class, basic $99 / Extended is $149.

- This one has some potential, but makes you use Paypal and seems to be an ongoing $20 charge.
I would be concerned at how to cancel it and not sure about trying it, even at the low cost.

I think the real Master gardeners out there do not teach classes... they are the ole timers still in the field, only way your gonna learn from them is to be right there with them.
It all depends on what you want from your classes, to be credited for a occupation/career. that is a tough one to choose, not a lot of info on what is legit on not. we need a listing...?
Now if you just want to learn for just to be able to grow "Masterly" lol... then just get programs with the basics, do a lot of reading and to actually grow (on the job training so to speak). and do a lot of reading...;)
get some grow books, join a few forums, find an ole bushy grower...lol

I paid and started on this one.
They make you do the grow basics class first, which is just a very poorly done power point of Jorge's book about growing. Going to move on to their horticulture series and see if its any better. If not, will kill this account and move to the next one on the list.

Well, gotta say, really disappointed in this content. Would have thought it would have been better with a Jorge name on the label. Prob ok for a high school kid that has never grown.
Canceled my account on on to the next one.

Thanks for the links guys. Classes and certifications are going to be mandatory in our future for professional growers.
