just been reading about this guy, he basically saved the entire human race! The american navy were dropping depth charges on his nuclear armed submarine, they lost radio contact with russia and thought they were at war and wanted to launch their nukes! He said no and saved the world from complete destruction!

Have you ever seen Crimson Tide? Stars Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman, it tells that same story, good movie, you'd probably like it if you haven't. Denzel is the guy trying to stop it and Gene is the Captain saying they need to fire, it get's pretty intense the way they butt heads over the issue.
