I read that you don't like the idea, but there is really nothing wrong with sticking a fan in an enclosure, I personally dont even build one, I just use the cardboard box it comes in, fill that with Rockwall and duct out either side. Nothing is quicker, cheaper or more effective IMO

I'm liking the hyper fan. I think that's going to be the winner for me! Thanks burppp. I hadn't seen that one yet.

The etaline fans are very similar, don't know how they compare price wise but worth searching as an alternative to the hyper

Well, I do like the fact that I didn't search forever to find the etaline or TD Silent fan performance data! It's right on their product pages. I don't know why it's so hard for other manufacturers to do the same. Finding static pressure and what not has wasted so much of my time. Thanks for the suggestions!

Both of those fans look good to me! Now I'm not sure what I want again

Has anyone tried Air Force II Acoustic Fans? They use Etaline fans ... just came across them while searching

Always call a manufacturer if you can't find what you need, ime. You can tell when someone is bullshitting you to on the phone better than in print on their website.

I've got an 8" hyper fan going on 35% which is dialed as low as it goes. It's quiet, super quiet. I have 10" can max as my go to fan but might try some hyper 10". But if you want quiet and need real air movement, the 14" can max is the bees knees!

I see some negative reviews on the TD also...
Blauberg do a better version of a TD silent style, very quiet, low watts at about 55W think full tilt, not massive flow but get one to suit the 6 is only about 440 but if you want quiet, there has to be some trade I suspect. Used with the black phonic trap ducting, its about as quiet as we ever heard

Metal body, the internals also metal, lots less plastic than a TD or Vortex

Hey there! Can't really compare between models but I've been using the Td-Silent for a while now and I'm really satisfied. I had to pick the TD500 because my box is standing in my living room and I wanted a fan that runs at lowest speed most of the times. As soon as someone speaks or when I turn on the TV, I barely hear the noise, even when just 3 meters away. Working fine for me but than again, it was the first I've seen and I just bought it straight away without comparing so it may not be the best choice either...

if it works for you, its the right fan. I also have some TD's, overtime we just upgraded to Blaubergs in tech refresh

I need a quieter fan myself & got excited about the Vortex! It look cool, technical, and about to be bought/installed in my garden. Then say the reviews about dB readings and it's about the same as what I run.

@Ecompost , are the Blaubergs fan are same in comparison?

I run a systemair RVK, and the Blauberg is quieter than that for sure, but I really think its marginal once I put the phonic trap ducting on mate given the price hike. The RVK moves more air, not much more but enough for me to say, well its gonna make more noise right...I do some work with Prima and they have a new EC fan released in April mate, the one we saw did 800m3 at 35w and 46dbi @ 3m looks very promising, no loss from cans either. I was super impressed

For those figures on the Prima I'll wait till April. I was looking for anything in the 60-70dbi range. Do you think your boys there will make a 220w model?
