Fucking google's results are decent sometimes.
Q: I am trying to find a way to become a master grower. It's very difficult to surf the net and find straight answers.

A1: A botany degree would certainly be a start. I don't think that anyone would give out a title like that without a little bit of sweat and study. Most everyone I have ever met in the cannabis world is simply a hobbyist, and the pros probably wouldn't admit to being such. Some people have been doing this for so many years that by all standards most people would consider them master growers, but I don't think that anyone out there is certifying anyone else out in the general public.

The proof is in the pudding as they say, and some have said on this forum that if you don't have a picture or a grow log regarding something, then it really didnt happen. Maybe that is the certification that you seek? I consider myself a pretty good gardener, but I know that I still have a lot to learn. There are probably a great many in this same boat, but we do have quite a few contributors on the various forums who have been growing for 20,30 and even over 70 years, all of whom I consider masters of this art compared to myself.

So, read everything you can get your hands on, read every post on this old and venerable web forum and then try out what you have learned in your own garden. Keep practicing for many years, and I bet someday you will look at what you are doing and realize that you have gotten pretty good at this, maybe even master level. It seems there is always something new to learn though, and even though I have been at it for many years, I still get in trouble now and then and see my plants suffering, and I know that I still have a lot to learn before I can even consider myself good, much less, a master.

A2:Go to school. Our University of Vermont Extention Program has Master Gardener classes with certification, I believe. Must be the same in other states, maybe?

A3: Michigan State college

I met some graduates from there that open a medical mj shop. Very educated in the mj world for growing and medical side of it too.
To bad the Feds/state shut them down.

A3: Oaksterdam in California. Full training facility.

Finally: I am a Master Grower. Whats it take to be one? Sure you can go to College, and learn horticulture. When ya get out, you will be an amateur grower. I have been growing Cannabis for over 40 years. I know everything about growing Cannabis, and I still study everyday. I think to express what a Master grower is, it's like this. Every one can grow Cannabis. A real grower grows cannabis and sees problems before they happen. You need to know what problems you could have or do have and know how to stay in front of those problems before you lose a crop. A few of the issues that may arise are , Mold, Mildew, Pests, under or over watering, nutrient deficiency, or excess nutrients, improper P.H. levels, high or low temperatures. that's a short list. You really have to see these things. You need your hands on them. No school will be able to show you all these things in a few classes, or in a just a couple of years. It will take part of a life time. A Master Grower knows all types of grow methods. N.F.T, Deep water culture, indoor soil, greenhouse, outdoor. Most of the time, I have all these methods going on at the same time. Genetics: where will you get your seeds. You can't just pull them out of the air. I don't. I bought some from a Seed bank. I liked em some I liked more than others. The place I get mine from says "Hey if any pop male, I will replace them. Let me know next time I see you" I got non feminized. I told him then. No if they pop male, and it is something I like that's the ones I will use to make my own strains, and that is what I do. It takes years to get it to what ya want. there are phenotype's then genotype phenotype maybe that it is purple, or a smell like lemon. after years and 100's of plants. your final plants will all have this thing that you want in them. thats your genotype. Then you can feminize those. So there you have it. at this point in the industry there is no where to go and just become a "Master Grower" There are places to go and learn to be a grower, but to be a Master will take everything you know, and then years of doing it. My family grew Tobacco for over a hundred years, then they switched to Corn and they have hives for honey, and they raise beef cattle. I only grow one thing - Cannabis. sure I can clone a rose bush, but that's not what I do. I am a Cannabis Master Grower. It did not happen over night. Oh I left out some of the most important information. This is a tough one. When is it ready? Patients can not be taught. It is the number one thing that kills it for most people. They just can not wait till it is done. So you get scruffy weak nasty tasting smoke. Curing your Cannabis is a hole other issue. some people wont put out their stuff for at least three months, some even longer. DUDE. there is just so much to know. This thread is almost a year old now, and if ya started then you are still not there.

Whatever the requirements are, #1 on the list has to be "never refer to yourself as a Master Gardener".

Growing plants that look like this consistantly would classify you as a master cannabis farmer, I would think...

One can edit and enhance colors...is that yours???
Yes it's mine sorry at work now. The face plant I grew with Vegamatrix colors are more vibrant than that of mills.
This pic is with Mills nutrients on the degrade side of the color. This is the exact same plant as above cloned. The mills color started a week after Vegamatrix colors came out while being flushed at the same time.
