So part of recycled organic living soil (ROLS). Is incorporating it into your life.
I have been saving food scraps and blending them up daily to be added to my ROLS. It is kinda nice knowing if my food goes bad it's not going to waste. It is paid for and is going into my soil. To be reused.
Today there was a lot. Leftover lemon rinds, asparagus, about a pound of kale gone bad, garlic chunks, egg shells, moldy mozarella cheese, banana peels etc.
I blended it all up. There was about .75gal total when all said and done.
The liquid looked and smelled potent.
I dumped it in my ROLS. And mixed each tote thoroughly by hand. I made sure to break up big clumps by hand so the deposits wouldn't be concentrated in places.
I then added some fresh mychorizae and biozeus microbes to each tote. Worked it all in thoroughly.
I then mixed each tote together and in between before evening them out again.
Then I left the lids off. Because the soil is pretty moist now and needs to dry out a little. They're still drying now. top 1/16" of soil is dry but I'm sure what's beneath is very wet.
Feels good putting my food scraps, and spoiled food to good use. Once I have a food garden they will be healthy plants.
I love organic gardening :)
