A beast top.

So far the beasts high judged by me and my friend. Is energetic, alert, mentally active, talking a lot. It is a very heavy high.

You can do things while using it.
But you will make dumb mistakes while your friends laugh at you

props R....ur training is 2nd to none bro ~

Hopefully this runt turns out like the beast did. If she does I'll be expecting another 6oz or so in the near future :smug:

So far so good. After yesterdays feeding she is getting vigorous.
This runt is getting ready to blow up.

She's got too many small branches with tight internodal distances all trying to sprout fan leaves lol.
20170410 103448

I'm just waiting for all those small skinny branches to thicken up so I can start training them. There are just so many I don't know where to start yet.

I'm excited about the runt.
It is a Delicious Seeds- critical super silver haze.

It startied out as a seed with a chunk taken out of the embryo before even soaking.

Popped out of its shell backwards and the tap root had to be freed from it.

Was somehow mutated for a while.

Was started into flower after 2 weeks veg from seed but never actually started the process. Was removed after 2 weeks of 12/12 and placed under a weak single led bulb to reveg and be on standby.

Was fed only water during the whole 16 weeks of standby.

After standby was up potted. I removed any extra or weak roots went from a 3 gal rootball to a 1g root ball. Then into the 5 gal short pot.

More roots are poking through to the perimiter of the pot and in a week or 2 she will probably be ready for the 10 gallon transplant.

She just stopped throwing single bladed leaves. I see some 5 blades showing up now. That means reveg is done.

She somehow pulled through many stressful situations struggling to survive. Now under a strong light & with good food, she is off to a strong start.

With how much stress she has and will continue to deal with. Along with the long veg time (low light conditions). She should turn into a healthy beast.

Looking good R. I read the entire post because you have beautiful plants and we are both growing in soil. You have been greatly successful and I hope to retain some of that knowledge. I've ran into a speed bump at the moment I need to figure out.

Defoliated the runt a small amount.
And then applied pipe cleaners to the fastest growing tall tips. Got to keep her as flat as possible. Then gave her a watering.

This overhead shot gives you a better idea on what's going on.
I'm confident she will be a dense one. I'm gonna guess she Will be ready for flower in under 30 days

at this stage it looks like you are really pulling the shackles tight, compared to the first three nodes before topping.

Since the runt was under very weak lighting all her branches were weak and flimsy. So I initially staked her down.

But now her shoots are getting stronger, faster. So now I'm resorting to hooking the branch. Then pulling it towards the rim of the pot. I am leaving a little slack so when I move the pot and the lip moves in or out it won't rip off the branches.

Over time they will become strong and fight you. So you gotta take advantage of their soft pliable days to straighten them out.

It has begun..... Another beast appears from the shadows.

I'm hoping one day I can get perpetual beasts going.

I'm digging the 1 big plant 1 big harvest thing. I'll just have to learn to stagger them correctly which I think is the hardest part to plan.

Now that I've hit 6.11oz on 1 plant in a 10 gallon pot. I have to try to beat that now.

Lets see if i somehow learned something from growing the beast. That will allow me to train a bigger harvest this round.

you can see her shape and structure isn't exactly what I would have normally envisioned.

If given enough time and love she will go from the runt into a beast in short order.

I hear mutants and runts can turn into great plants if given extra time to grow. I'm hoping this is the case.

On another note she is spec'd for 10 weeks flowering time. So she may end up in the 10-11 week range from being part of the haze family.

A pic set of a tiny nugget off the #3
20170411 014036

Trichome heads nice and swollen.
With a few ambers sprinkled on here and there. That last closeup is of a sugar leaf. The buds don't have ambers.

That top picture has a good representation of the calyx look at senescence with the empty open hole.

Now that my trim has been drying long enough. Today is the day to turn it into oil.
20170411 154209

I didn't weigh the trim this time. Mostly because it usually yields %10-%15. Not worth calculating.

But it was about 2 full quart mason jars full from all the plants.

Was a good amount so I expect a decent recovery here.

I had to iso wash my silicone pan. The last batch was the sludge. Gotta preserve the taste of that good good.

My next oil batch will be the smalls of the beast, clone & #3. It will be a mixed batch.

For now the trim will hold me over for a while.

My usage plan after harvests.

Separate into 4 categories

Tops
Middle sized buds
Small or larf buds
Trim

while everything is curing in jars you can puff on the larf buds.

Then once the trim is dry process into oil.
Use oil for a while occasionally puffing on larf buds

Next is take all larf & smalls then turn into the next batch of oil.

Enjoy oil while occasionally puffing on the middle sized nugs.

Once oil is out process middle nugs into oil while saving some for smoke.

Repeat until your out of middle nugs.
Then you start on your tops last.

Start from what you think is the least best (even though all the tops are fire separate them into categories).

Then you process the lowest into oil while puffing the middle best tops.

Once out turn some middle quality tops into oil while puffing on your best tops.

Once out of oil start making small batches of oil out of your best tops while puffing on those tops. Until you run out

Working from the bottom up is great cause your smoke gets better and better as your tolerance grows.

You start from the best you'll be stuck with the least best at the end.

This harvest I had much frostier trim.
Along with more overall.
But I wasn't expecting this much on the return.

As you all know I like the fuller yield so my stuff comes out darker on photo. But by eye on it is nice golden amber color.
