I think of it this way.I was told that I grow my plants too big. That if a grew smaller plants I would get higher THC. Of course that was from a small plant guy. Also a good grower
The longer they have to grow the more that can go wrong. Not saying it will but.... Also this depends on your pot size or medium and how your plants handle your nutrient regiment. If you need to grow for longer with bigger plants you use more nutrients along the way and larger pots. Smaller plants smaller pots and less nutrients and less time for bud. It know every one thinks giant plants are good but then you have to deal with bud rot also and big buds don't get the exposure because the bud can be huge no light gets inside. Leaving thenoutside looking great and the inside either moldy or lack luster. Now in nature you have sativas which go on a very long time but are often not as thick as indicas so they can handle it. In my opinion find a nice middle ground. But more plants equals more bud in a shorter amount of time. Think about veg time. By the time you've grown that monster plant.
If it's not infected with something by now and let's say you have the space to just veg plants and flower some you may be fine with that. But for people with limited space I would say find what works best for
your spaces. I grow using super soil so if I want huge plants I beef up the nutrients that's about it. Usually the quality is similar but I do have to watch for mold if I'm doing so. I prefer medium sized plants.
