Been interested in running some nl5xhaze for a while. Looking for the old school flavor with that kick ass effect. Heard mixed reports on nl5xhaze by various banks.

Did the Mr. Nice Version come through for you?
So has anyone grown these out?

On another note, Love to see any nl5xhaze that you feel is a winner.
Show and tell. You got the colo cough or another oldie but goodie love to see it.

Description:
Nl5 x Haze is and has been a dominating force in the Cannabis scene and history of breeds. Since its inception in the late 80s as a seed strain, it has ubiquitous uses in the world of cannabis and is probably the single most important strain ever made that allowed a sativa to express itself in all facets of the plant equally.

Heritage: NL5 x Haze
Category: The Naturals - Old school genetics
Family of breed: 50% Afghan, 50% Haze
Breeder: Nevil and Shantibaba
Preferred medium: Bio and Hydro, Indoors and outdoors/greenhouse
Expected yield: This strain has a large potential for a big yield depending upon the size of the plant and how long it is veged for. But one can expect between 450-650 grams a square meter.
Flowering period: Indoor flowering can vary a little and expect it to be between 9-11 weeks. Northern Hemisphere it would finish in November, but you may find a phenotype that finishes well inside this date. In the southern hemisphere we would expect it to go May-June.
Recommendations: For the experienced growers to the most advanced cultivators. A highly valued end product from the past.
Special Notes: Not a bad thing to say about this strain. In fact it is probably one of the most important hybrids ever created and subsequently has lead rise to so many other poly-hybrids in all places of the world.

NL5 from the SSSC kicked ass! Not sure who ended up with NL5, shantibaba , Neville or where it went from there but those guys should have good NL5 gene in their seeds... My gro buddy swears by anything shantis Haze seeds.... NL5 x K2 gosh, you'd thinkg that would produce some strong aggressive plants. Both strains have been very hardy and a pleasure to grow for me. NL5 x Haze- that is a famous combo, that for sure...

^^^^ wouldn't be my first time being wrong but sssc did not have nl5 before nevil. They were competitors sssc had basic 5. Nevil has talked about the confusion on mns site when he was still posting. People some how over time have linked the two. Sssc was a collective and there were many holland breeders that contributed. mns nl5 x haze is a new nl5 selection by shantibaba from nl5 seeds nevil gave him. I have ran a few of the new version but no real luck yet. Ive only had two females one was a yeilder but no rocket fuel .

you could be correct, BUT, I have NL5 in my collection and it came from the SSSC days, I had not ordered from Shanti in that era, The cops got my SSSC catalog and I could have swore this where I started my Northern Lights strains. I could have swore there was an NL5 cross in there also... but my memory is foggy at best and convoluted with other seed banks .

I saw your thread over at MNS homie, it stopped me from poppin mine lol, that's all I've been searching for when it came to the current NL5 x Haze being offered ...some good ole honesty, thanks for that!! I was going to have a look thru these two packs to hopefully find a good male but that'll have to wait.

I don't want to give up on them(nl5xhaze) but I've got so many dam seeds I like to see something from the first sample to make meGet into the rest of them. I've got close to 100 mango haze seeds I want to start popping some of them. I want to crack some ssh too But I can't make my mind up. Lol till i make my mind up I'll be looking at 60ish day strains

on one project, say 2008-9 ish, the group i was working with was obsessed with Arjan's work, i assumed this was built up due to hype. They had multiple packs of GHSC's nl5Xhaze. went through every single seed and didnt find a golden nugget. The one kept around the longest was a big yielder but the buds were pretty airy. She grew pretty big colas, about the size of my head, but the gal just seemed to never fully finish, took her to 11-12 weeks and still wasnt ripe. The grow conditions were far from perfect and they were a product of GHS so needless to say....

leadsled I popped 2 packs of NL#5 X Haze from Sensi Seed Bank, back in 96
I found a bunch of nice phenos,and a variety of aroma/flavors like,pine ,eucalyptus,frankincense
sandalwood, black pepper and some trippy citrus ammonia funk.......

Some phenos took 11-12 weeks but the keeper I chose was done in 10
It was a huge yielder that would stretch from 18" to five foot in flower

Super potent ,up beat stone for a buzz, that had a long duration............

I popped some GreenHouse NL x Haze a few years ago and it was pretty much a bunch of
weak phenos, that did not really seem related to the Sensi Seed Bank versions.........

Going to have to move the Mr Nice nl5xhaze up the list of beans to test out. Did not see em listed here, but they got em @harborside. They also got some clones of Dr Atomic NL. More interested in seeds and making my own selections. Still going to do more searching around and hopefully there will be more feedback.

@shantibaba Got anything to share? Come on down, would love to hear from you!!

Thanks for sharing everyone. Really appreciate all the knowledge you guys bring to the table. Plus gotta say you guys got some really good taste in genetics!!

My buddy has a northernlights#5 cross that he has had on lockdown for 10 years, not sure if its a haze cross but i suspect it is(he wont tell, lol),We have always just referred to it as ''the cheese'',it is super powerful and humbling,a couple bong rips and youll need the GPS to find your own house, super stony and a yielder too.Hes the only guy i still buy zips(200z) from a few times a year just to have the cheese in inventory,I would love to have a cut but i think its his money maker and he wont come off it,other growers buy it all up before it even hits the streets.

I ran Mr. Nice NL#5 x haze. It's total fire. It was a few years back but it's def. worth running. I also ran the Mango Haze. Also more fire !!! I'll probably end up buying a couple more packs of the Mango Haze. Good luck and happy pheno hunting all.

BUMP AN OLD THREAD

Whos running the Swami Nevils 88 NL5/Hz?

This is the real deal early genetics, No Mr Nice Genetics....and has been bred to F5 Stabilized. Id like to know how it compares to the Mr Nice version?

I had some of this stuff, crossed with the G13 x Hash Plant x Sk1 Road Kill in the early mid 90s, and it was the best stuff Id seen since the 70s. Huge lung expansion. You knew you were going to cough every hit. Tasted like the best Hash.

But I'm interested in the straight NL5/Hz from 88. Cootz found his breeder stock in 91, and put the seeds away until a few years ago, were germinated, and have now been worked to F5.

Swami also has 1 that's bred with a 76 Thai x 71 Kandahar Female..

Its called Blue Orca Haze. I believe the Thai was the Male, Kandahar Female x Nevils NL5/Hz Male. Is supposed to upgrade the taste, and not as grinding, but potentially even more potent than the NL5/Hz.

If this stuff pans out, I recommend it to anyone that wants truly some very powerful product. Really powerful. Also consider Ive been smoking for 50 years. This is potentially some of the best stuff ever.

Any info on the Swami ???
