I always kept a head stash (of way more than I needed). I have a strain going on 5 years still in jars.
I'm just thinking outload, and think I had mentioned it somewhere else, but if seed cos wanted, we'd all have access to elite, clone only quality strains. I think the seed thing is a racket! Thing is many people need em. Some of the steains I've grown have been from clones of clones that originated 20 years ago. Ever since I've been able to get my hands on good genetics, I started saving everything I could. Many times it took years to get the same pheno as the original mom, but it was well worth the time, and work.
That last one was a cross og Chemdog #4 x to BX of the good cut of Choc D

Man that looks like a chunk of Slurricane I grew out a few months back. I didn't cure it out like that though. Wish I did now.

The best plant I ever had came from a 1 lb bag that had 3 seeds. I guess it was when Grape Ape first hit? It tasted almost exactly like grape Jolly Ranchers. I put it in 3 gal of FF soil (DAM, that was a long time ago). The leaves had a natural dhine to it, cutting rooted in a cup of water under a kitchen fluorescent. By week 2 all gan leaves had trics on em. I grew it under one of thoes old 150's, and I won't even mention the yield. I was living in an unfriendly state, and did everything possible to make it herm...At 9 weeks it was still getting fatter. I did get 1 seed, but far too immature. Whenever I find a seed or 2 in a large bag, It's like a diamond! I've had some great genetics, but I think under 1 Ks, and the styles I grow now, it be a champ! Def a top all time 3 strain. Beautyful natural purple color.

Thanks yeah I was lucky enough to find some seeds from a lb of FIRE LSD, I couldn't resist. So I popped 2, 1 is at a buddy's and the other one is that one. Complete keeper imo, pest and mold resistance, frosty, wreaks, chunky, easy grow. Got 80 more of these bad boys I'm going to f2, massive bean pop at once, go through loads of stress, take out all that produce nuts.
But that's still a little ways away. Just happy to have these gems.

I've seen, and smoked pleanty og GA throughout the years. This looked, grew, tasted completely different than any other. Idk if it was being sold, as GA (I also heard of super GA). Ive been searching for that ever since, but nothing has cime cloes. I hope you have better luck. I'd stll try. Pop as many as ya can. If ya find a sativa leaning one with shinny leaves, ya might be on to it...better share lol. Good luck!

Years ago when I ordered seeds, Nirvana would have some GREAT genetics! No fem seeds back then, so ya could get dudes to. I grew a AK, outdoors from them. STRONG plant! Handled mid 30's in early/mid May, as well as Oct. Very potant, good yielder, and had a "cherrie" flavor. I had some beautyful colors.. I wish I had crossed it, as I think that cherry pheno is rare???
I also made a HUGE mistake and ordered from Greenhouse seed co. It was supposed to be mold resistant, but that was 1 of 2 times in my life I ended up with bud rot. Out of 10 beans, I think only 3 popped. Worst Co ime

Original cross was Neville's Haze x pre 98 Bubba Kush.
I use the AK prefix because I live in interior Alaska.
The Mango heritage is from a keeper clone brought back from Oregon.

What caught my eye were those cylindrical leaves sticking out of the mid bud. So frosty.

I am a hobby seed maker. Just using some of the delivered knowledge obtained over the years. For the fun of it.

Wow, I had a strain that grew/looked JUST LIKE THAT! An old friend of mine drove down from Indiana, as I offered him one of my cuts. He brought the strain with him. He called it "Indiana Horse Hair". Anyway, it wasn't a yielder, but dam was it frosty, great flavor, and the highest THC I believe I've had tested.
Anything great I ever had, I've either selfed, or crossed. That was one I should have crossed to a good yielder, and searched for a pheno that yielded, and had the power (easy to grow too)
I didn't even take a cutting, and I regret that one!
The White seems to cross well to just about anything. We'll, that's head stash for sure!
