I really think its his water temps
if the temps are to low
that will def effect nutrient uptake
the roots in that cup should have been much fuller than that
I think he should pull another plant that looks good and see what its roots look like
I bet much fuller

Hmm do you think I should get an aquarium heater and bring it up to 68?

I’ll pull another when I get home.. on most of the other bigger plants I can see tons of roots popping through the Bottom..

Dont change nothing woody. There is a huge failure rate when applying for the seal team 6, and unfortunately the same holds true in Padawan training.
I have jumped back in forth on this issue myself.
You could feed water to coco straight, and survive for a few days.
You could piss in the wind to an poss not get soaked.
You could swim in the everglades and be fine, but do you want to???
We didnt just make up the rules for coco on this thread.
Wisher uses advice he has been giving,
along with his 20 years of soil growing too...
I fed my plants 1.5 ec from start with 800 ppm c02
and here is what they ended up looking like

I wouldnt change the feed
I would def bring your temps up
you wanna be between 68-75
anything under will def effect the plants growth
anything over def will start to grow some nasties

so I would HIGHLY recommend a heater very soon
you will notice a difference

yes I would deff bring temp up to 68. I wouldnt worry so much about the 3x waterings a day as I would the temp..
But keep in mind I only flood 1 extension high.. so im gonna guess im only 1 1/2" deep flood..

Yummyyyy, thanks fellas. I had a strong gut feeling that the whitesih yellow was due to not hitting them w the lights until this morning. I let them basically pop out of the soil w no light on them. I bet when i get home there nice n purty!!!

You ever seen a baby when it first comes out the womb?
Well your seedling just came out the womb..
Dont get to caught up with what it looks like the first few days..
Its getting adjusted..

Ohh gawddd. Did u have to give me that visual. Lol yeah i personally think almost all fresh babies are pretty ugly. Lmao. I figured. Soo ima check the ph again when i get home. If its still 6.0/6.1 should i try ro bring it down a lil or just leave it be? Idk how but it went up frm a set 5.8 to 6.0 in a day. Maby because it stays pretty warm in my room id say around like 75/76 almost all the time. I keep it that way for the plants.

just leave it be unless it goes above 6.4 or below 5.5

You're doing the newb shuffle bro. It's almost impossible but try to relax. Don't over think it at this point, just keep doing what you're doing and let em grow. Or you're gonna end up doing shit like this

One more time for good measure since I dug it out guys lol.

lol,, funny but true..
This plant could grow outside with out any help from humans,
sometimes the best thing to do, is leave it alone..
It has a desire to live just about as bad as you..
I mean we cant rip my arm off, tape it, and return to have a very rewarding life :)

so
the reason why your feed is climbing in ph is because your tap water has "buffers" in it
Calcium carbonate
Magnesium Carbonate
these will buffer your treated water to a base
meaning it will try to maintain a 7-8ph
but
you should be fine

like Event said
just monitor
if it raises above 6.2
or drops below 5.5 then you need to adjust

I have a feeling you are going to become very familiar with your ph down solution

which is perfectly fine

also

with your seedlings

leave them alone for a day or 2
I suggest
water/feed every 2 days until the coco either starts to dry out by the end of the day
or your seedling has a full first set of leaves
which ever comes first
then I would up it to once a day at least

for people in flood and drain and other systems this information is not relevant
this is strictly for you growing in coco and either top drip or hand watering

Thats BS, almost sounds like scam tactics bro..

Excellent wisher! Its hard to tell them to water/feed every 2 days cause we cant see how quick the coco dries just from lights/environment, but me and you have discussed this exact thing a few times when it comes to top feed and sips/F&D/....
I guess piggybacking off that, I would say, remember this..................
1. the seedling isnt using 1 ml of water, and it isnt using any of the nutes just as MW said,
but what MW didn't take into account, is that we fed the water to the seedling and used it as a dlilevary vehickle to push the nutes into the coco. Imagine that every cell of the coco, is a circle with +/- , i think called ions/eons/protons/electrons, some damn tron...
Anyway when you wated/feed you are watering the plant, but feeding the coco. You are replacing the negative ions with + ions, in whats called cation exchange. If the coco was to just have straight water then you throw the cation exchange off, and quite possibly have the coco leach nutrients fron the plant..
Now im not near as skilled at the inter workings as wisher, but im trying to get the idea out there that you are feeding the coco, not the plant.. your plant uses what it needs in the coco which throws off the +/- until its fed again.. There is also an exchange of Ca for ??? ,, wisher will have to fill in the blanks.. plus each time you feed you pull O2 into the root zone, est the same thing as hydroponics when you get to ramp it up in flower...
hope that gave you a little to think about...
Wisher will proof read this and give you an intelligent explanation..
Like I always have said,,
I know just enough to be dangerous to myself :)
